Topic: Nintendo Live Sydney 2024

I was a little surprised to see that nobody had posted a topic on the event, so it might as well be me, I guess?

I applied at something like half an hour before the deadline, and I was drawn less than half an hour after midnight. I was under the impression that there would be limited free invites issued while others could pay to attend, but I find it baffling that this whole event is an exclusive invite-only affair. Seems like an extravagant waste of money to sell ice to eskimos.

Any peeps in Sydney been invited? I'll be attending on day 1, being Saturday (so long as I don't sleep in until 3.45pm like I did in my dream over the weekend ). I've also made a meetup via Niantic's Campfire app for those who might want to stick around for some Pokémon Go raids and/or Gold PokéStops during (or perhaps after) the event.

WIthout any friends/family joining me, I'm a lot less enthusiastic about the event. I'll likely check out whatever unreleased games I can get my hands on and I'll probably grab some Sydney-exclusive merch. I'm hideously unphotogenic, so I won't be gunning for a photo with Charles Martinet.
