the main couple of games (3 or 4??) will get 1 or 2 minutes each, I think they'll show a batch of 10 games with 10-30 seconds per game. I think we'll see maybe 12-15 games and I bet I care about 3 of them.
So dreaming big and not likely what are people's most wanted?
There was an old rumour of a GTA V port which was taking ages due to technical issues, I'd like to see a selection of Persona ports (I know everyone wants 5 but I'd rather have 3 since I've not played it and the shooting yourself thing sounds too weird not to try), Sega had re-releases of Yakuza and Shenmue not too long ago, there was a new House Of The Dead arcade game, a proper Fallout seems overdue, people were gagging for Nier Automata at one point and there's probably a ton of other stuff people would like to see.
Personally HD ports of the Jet Set Radios or a Dreamcast collection (mainly for Crazy Taxi & Jet Set Radio) like on Steam would have my money.
@gcunit Yeah, people are reading too much into that. All it likely means is that they'll probably do more of these partner showcases at some point in the future. If the response is all really negative it could very well be the last in the series too.
@Slowdive My point was referring to the fact that a number of these same 'credible leakers' claimed a Mario collection was guaranteed in today's direct. Which, again, very untrue, clearly.
I mean my guess was just that they’d basically split up what would be a normal direct that was supposedly coming in September/E3 into small mini directs throughout the year. I don’t really see the absurdity in that.
@MarioBrickLayer I'd guess there's Indie World in August with indie games like Axiom Verge 2, Sports Story, Silksong, etc. appearing there rather than today.
Looking forward to this direct. Not expecting anything earth shattering, but will be nice to have some more release dates. Would be cool if they announce another indie game with a Nintendo IP, similar to Cadence of Hyrule.
I’m honestly really upset that Nintendo still is not providing a proper direct. It has almost been a full year since the last full-length one, and this year has been sparse with releases. They said their lineup was unaffected by the pandemic, but they have yet to prove that.
It is also a waste to have a Mini Direct focused on third party games we already know about. Are there anymore lackluster digital presentations coming this year that we should know about Nintendo?
