Do you think Pokemon Legends is the big holiday game this year or they are keeping a big announcement from us ?

being a nintendo fan is hard. only chance is announcement tmrw but i dont think thatll happen cause wednesday is the most common as a direct day

Well doesn't look like an announcement today. Could very well be announced tomorrow for Thursday though, especially with the maintenance scheduled.

@Bigmanfan I suspect a Partner Direct announcement tomorrow for Thursday. I think we’re getting a Direct but not a massive one, as third party devs and publishers have been aching to announce that they’re releasing games on Nintendo’s new console. (Sorry if this was already discussed, catching up on the rumour mill here)

Aside from Kirby Air Riders…. Is there anything else that would show gameplay? It seems Nintendo’s slate just needs some release dates which can all be done outside a presentation. Focus will be on third party this week, and back to first party in September, if I were to wager my thoughts.

A General Switch 1 Direct held on Thursday, March 27th, announced the 26th

A General Switch 2 Direct held on Wednesday, April 2nd, announced with the Switch 2 on Thursday, January 16th

Mario Kart World Direct held on Thursday, April 17th announced on Wednesday, April 2nd

The Donkey Kong Bananza Direct was on Wednesday June 18th, announced on the Monday the 16th of June
so if nintendo SOMEHOW has a “wednesday then thursday” pattern for directs this year, it COULD be tomorrow. however in the past 12 months we have gotten a lot of weird directs, like the museum one, so theyre getting harder to predict!

Directs really are getting harder to predict since they've been following the February, June, September pattern a lot less in 2024 and 2025.

@Duboiss I feel like the bundle supports that notion. I would’ve said Mario kart was the holiday game if that game’s bundle wasn’t going to be discontinued

There will definitely be a November game and Nintendo usually arranges the November game to be a pretty major one. Could be the new Zelda Warriors game though.

Nintendo just sent out a “July NSO Newsletter” mass email. Does that preclude a Direct happening this week? You’d think they’d have delayed the newsletter email a bit if a Direct was imminent.

I’m impatient for more S2 news, though with my backlog (just on S2, let alone my OG Switch collection!) I’ve no right to be. I’m midway through Cyberpunk, barely started Bananza, haven’t even touched my copies of Guardians of Azuma or Yakuza Zero, and Daemon X Machina is looming in September. I’ve already got more than I can handle this year.

Even so, I guess I’d just like to get dates for MP4, Air Riders, and the upcoming Zelda Musō game, as well as Elden Ring. When this summer Direct does air, I’m half hoping they don’t announce any new, must-own games. 😓

@Teksette I don't think it means anything. They seem to send them out around the same time each month.

Drag x Drive got an eight minute overview trailer (looks like nothing new from what ive read 💔 im hoping this isnt the last nail in the coffin for a direct this week. although maybe they js wanted to get an eight minute trailer out of the way? cmon nate give us some hope

Thank you, and yes I suppose you’re right - the newsletter is strictly NSO news after all, so there’s still plenty left for a potential Direct to reveal.

Nintendo better hurry and announce this Direct though, if they’re doing it in July! I guess we’ll know either way very soon.

It'll be disappointing if it's only a partner showcase. Especially since the rumored games don't sound particularly interesting in the slightest. Weird how Nintendo has stuff they can show, but then holds back and doesn't want to show anything- even if it's supposed to come out this year.

@Bigmanfan He said he wasn't sure. By Nate right I meant something this week. Given all the semi leaks have been about partner games and Nintendo dropped Mario Paint and more drag x drive info, it's just looking slightly less like a general direct. I could easily be wrong though.
