@PikaPhantom Interesting, I didn't realize the Nintendo Today extras were randomized. Having Kirby be two different NSO games-of-the-month with icons for each still feels like more than the weekly music drops though. You really didn't get Kirby on Nintendo Today? They've been doing 'name that copy ability' in numerical order in my app plus had some other Kirby as well.
@FishyS Interesting, while I haven’t seen the copy ability thing you’re talking about my app gave me a kirby orchestra opening this morning. Kind of weird that it’s randomzed, I wonder how they’ll not run out of content to show.
Silksong is GOTY 2025 and no other game stands a chance (E33 will win anyway)
Yeah, I wouldn't take Nintendo Today as being a hint towards what we'll get in the next direct. I marked Xenoblade as one of the interests I have- and they put an old recording of a Xenoblade song on the main feed for today. I don't think that means we'll be seeing Xenoblade at the direct.
"It is fate. Many have tried, yet none have ever managed to escape it's flow."
about an hour, can't wait! I didn't find any indications of what this is besides 'nintendo switch 2' 'switch 2' and 'nintendo direct', so there's not really any implication of games but I'm almost certain there will be.
@Nintoz I mean with the Switch 2 being playable hands on and the Treehouse including Switch 2 games, I wonder how many will be announced at the Direct. I think Mario Kart will certainly be at the Nintendo Treehouse, as well as maybe a new IP, but I could see them not putting 3D Mario for hands on or being in the Treehouse.
Well, there it is. I guess the pessimistic takes from some over the last week or so about how this thing somehow wouldn't be a showcase of games are kinda proven wrong now. As they were always going to be. An hour long presentation is not going to just outline hardware. It's also going to go deeper than just Switch content and a couple of Switch 2 games. An hour is a LONG Direct
And if anyone still doubted that with the length? Boom, treehouse events showcasing gameplay for Switch 2 games
We're going to be eating well the next few days I think. Has to be a solid 5 meaty game announcements in here at least
@skywake Yeah with the hands-on it was already guaranteed to have games pretty much, but this pretty much confirms it. Nintendo Japan's description of the Direct includes that software shown might have age restrictions, meaning software is indeed there!
@PikminMarioKirby With an entire hour, it feels like it will be like January 2017 where they announce basically a year's worth of games but only give lots of details on some of them, with some of of the others reappearing in a later direct this year.
This is dope. 1hr for the presentation and 2 treehouses back to back. I won't be able to watch the treehouse presentation live unfortunately but I'll catch up after.
@FishyS This is essentially the Switch Presentation 2017 except it is pre-recorded so there's no risk in any mess-ups, and taking on the Direct name. Basically just a mixture between traditional Direct and the Switch Presentation 2017, at least that's what it seems like to me.
A year's worth of games would be insane, but I could totally see it. Aside from Switch 1 games (assuming they're not here), that would probably be 6 or so 1st party titles here, and maybe 1 or 2 games next year or even without a release frame. Mario Kart, a new IP, and 3D Mario seem very likely, but what else are people expecting?
@PikminMarioKirby I think it'll be much more focused on 3rd parties this time. For the January 2017 Presentation, 3rd party support was limited to just a small 11 minute segment and appearing every so often in a 1.5 minute sizzle reel.
@Grumblevolcano I personally can't see 30 minutes of 3rd party, that's half of the Direct and Nintendo knows most people are there for the hardware and the huge new games Nintendo is making. Most 3rd party trailers will probably be shorter, so I'm expecting a lot less time on them. Here's my guess:
