I just wish they had a Nintendo Music app that you can install on PC. Want to listen to music through it, but I'm not always on my phone- and rarely use my phone when I'm at home.
"It is fate. Many have tried, yet none have ever managed to escape it's flow."
I wonder if the music app will be built in to the OS / available by default on the new console?
On the one hand, why wouldn't they put the music app on the new system? On the other hand, they did something similar with the Pokemon app and then removed it.
@Novamii You could do it to some degree on Xbox 360 like ripping CDs to the hard drive or plugging in your MP3 player/Zune/iPod into the USB slot, not sure about streaming. But I know for sure that Groove Music streaming in the background was a thing on XB1.
I'm trying to think whether there was an upcoming lineup list presented at an earnings report as quiet or quieter than February will look if there's no announcements in January:
March 20th 2025 - XCX Definitive Edition
2025 - Metroid Prime 4
2025 - Pokemon Legends Z-A
Closest I can think of is the one in May 2023 (TotK, Pikmin 4, Prime 4, Pokemon DLC, Mario Kart DLC) but with that situation the gigantic game (TotK) was mere days away from launch.
We only got 1 general Direct last year, which is shockingly low since we usually get 2-3.
Now that it's 2025, when will the first Direct of the year be? We could get a Mar10 Day presentation and/or Pokemon Day Presents. Switch 2 should get a presentation before April (as it's been confirmed that we're hearing more before the end of March). It's even possible we get a Switch 1 general Direct soon, February is still empty for Nintendo and we still don't know anything past March besides Metroid Prime 4 and Pokemon Legends Z-A.
@CaleBoi25 I hope we get one in February (or even better if it was January!) as well. Not sure where this fits in with other likely presentations around the same time, but with how few upcoming Switch games there are, it feels very likely for there to be one.
@FishyS@Dev1024 I think it depends on what kind of Direct it would be. If it would focus on Switch 1 titles I think it'd be before a Switch 2 reveal, but if it was a Switch 2 dedicated Direct I think it would be after the initial reveal.
I think it's very possible we could get some as soon as next week, but I guess we'll have to see.
@Dev1024 If that's what Nintendo's plan will be, they better have a Switch 2 announcement trailer right on my birthday... OR ELSE! Lol I'm just teasing, but it would be cool if they do.

Favorite game: Super Mario 3D World
AKA MarioVillager92. Ask if you want to be Switch friends with me, but I want to get to know you first. Thanks! ❤️
@PikminMarioKirby I agree, Nintendo doing a massive Mario focus prior to the SMB 40th anniversary celebrations gives the impression that they don't want there to be a crossgen period on Switch 2 and hence they'd do a Switch 1 general Direct prior to the Switch 2 reveal.
Really hope my idea of a January Switch 1 general Direct happens as it's the best chance of another Tomb Raider 4-6 Remastered trailer prior to launch.
@Grumblevolcano SMB 40th is very interesting. For the 35th in 2020, it was thought to have been planned for summer direct (or e3) instead of September like it ended up being. It’s hard to tell when it’ll happen this year, but it seems like Nintendo cares about Mar10 day more now so perhaps it could be on that day. They could even put that stuff in a February/January Direct as well.
@Novamii I’d love to finally get that game on Switch as well. The main reason I could see Nintendo avoiding it is if they didn’t want any other 3D Mario release same year as a potential brand new 3D Mario.
@NinChocolate Thankfully you are not in charge lol. Abandoning 150 million users is not a good look. Like you wouldn't be interested in software sales hahaha. Besides, we son't know how good the holidays were outside of Japan (which on it's own is enough to give anyone a headache about releasing a new console!)
I never drive faster than I can see. Besides, it's all in the reflexes.
Since it's presumed that the backwards compatibility between OG Switch and Switch 2 is 100%, I could see Nintendo ending OG Switch television, vod, social media, and print adverts. Let the retailers do the advertising in order to liquidate inventory before the Switch 2 arrives. Holiday 2025 Switch bundles will no doubt be priced to move.
Next mainline Direct?
I assume Nintendo have now gone dark until they've decided on the Switch 2 Presentation event date between now and March.
Honestly at this point the only question is what comes first, the Switch 2 reveal or the Pokemon Presents? Those are the next two big events most likely, the question is in what order? Hopefully the Switch 2 reveal first because this is getting physically painful. If we have two wait another 2 months for Nintendo to actually reveal the thing this fanbase is going to implode (it kind of already is already).
