Topic: Next Nintendo Direct?

Usually I have pretty chunky list of predictions/wishes but there's a different dynamic this time it feels like.
Probably because there's pretty much nothing on the horizon (first party-wise at least) so it opens the door for a lot of things but you have to be restrained with the knowledge that thet're holding a lot of big titles back for Switch 2.

That being said I'm almost certain we'll see a Mario Party and something Zelda related. Previously I was dead set on Wind Waker/Twilight Princess but the more I think about it, the more plausible it seems that 2D Zelda might crop up instead.

I personally would love to see F-Zero GX Remastered, not getting my hopes up too much though as I feel like 2 F-Zero games within a year is a bit much to ask given how we waited like 19 years before anything new. I don't think it's completely out of the question, but I'm also not really expecting it

@Nintoz an f zero game with full online capabilities would be amazing. Imagine, a whole race full of players constantly knocking each other and slamming the boost button. That would be so cool, even if they just give us a HD f zero GX!

If Prime 4 is a Switch 1 only title, this will be where it's revealed. If it's not there tomorrow then it'll pretty much confirm that it's either cross gen or Switch 2 only.

i think glimpses of nes world championships and luigis mansion 2 HD are pretty much expected, right?

Most people actually think not on that, but I’d be surprised if they didn’t do little mentions of them.

@Croctopus I doubt they'll try making another pure baseball game, it'll probably be another 5 sports in one game where each one is underdeveloped a la Sports Mix / Superstars and everyone here will be disappointed. Casual fans will eat it up tho.

Worst case scenario for DK would be a new Mini Mario vs DK game lol. Though if it was a proper follow-up to DK '94 I'd be psyched tbh.

Best case scenario though is that it sets the ball rolling for proper remasters like GX or even a new entry if we're really lucky

So happy it's finally happening.
The fact we're getting a 40-minute presentation makes me hopeful there'll be at least one big reveal among the games shown. Can't wait 'till tomorrow.

It’s pretty strange that we haven’t seen much from Pyoro regarding hints at what to expect tomorrow. Only 2 retweets from other accounts. Hoping that’s not to say first party announcements will be sparse. Other than the reveal of the obvious Grange Hill game they’re going to release this year 😛

I do wonder if those rumored Twilight Princess and Wind Waker ports are real and get revealed. I think that was one of the long-standing Nintendo rumors for a few years, though every single “leaker” was wrong regarding the date those two were supposed to be announced.

I really do hope they reveal some more N64 games for NSO like I’ve said earlier. Looking at the release schedule and the last games released on there, I think the N64 service is due for another title or two, or an announcement for some upcoming titles that will be released in a few months, though I think the SNES and NES libraries are also due for new releases too. Is it bad that I liked the N64 service on there a lot amidst the negativity surrounding it when it first released? I think it’s because I was a newcomer to the N64’s games lol.

@GrailUK Nice wishlist! I think it would be exciting if a few of those did get shown during the Direct. I think Metroid Prime 4 is due for an update. It’s been nearly a decade, hasn’t it?

If I recall, wasn’t Hi-Fi Rush actually supposed to get a Switch release from what those leaked images of those t-shirts said that also included PlayStation and Steam logos? If so, I’m surprised it’s taking them long to release it, but after Microsoft closed the developer of that game an official from Microsoft said that Hi-Fi Rush would continue to be sold on whatever platforms it is available on, and I think NL wrote an article on that statement and said that it makes it uncertain if the game is going to be released on Switch after all. A “leaker” claimed that the title was being saved for the supposed “Switch 2,” but I think very recently that leaker was discredited and is no longer a trusted source. That’d stink if Switch users were left out and I believe the game would do so well on there.

They wouldn't necessarily need the entire team to port the game to Switch 2. Also, it's a fairly safe bet that there have been dev kits in the wild for at least a year, so the bulk of the work might already have been done prior to Tango Gameworks being shut down.

Failing that, it could be a job for a relatively small studio that specialize in ports, such as the recently acquired Shiver. I'm not saying that it's definitely them, but their acquisition would make a lot more sense if they were working on porting an important game to Switch 2 for its launch window.
