Topic: Next Nintendo Direct?

I feel if there's one coming next week, we'll see the announcement of it on a Monday. I can't see it being a Tuesday announcement for a Wednesday Direct, although I'm pretty sure it has happened before.

They rarely announce a direct 2 days before. The Direct could also be thursday. If Nothing is announced by the end of wednesday it will not be that week.

Has Metro been officially announced yet? I know it’s been rated but I would’ve expected some word on it so close to release.

All developers are back from the holidays tomorrow so expect something in the next couple of days😉

@Dezzy Last year it was 1 day so if the Direct is on Wednesday, announcement is more likely on Tuesday.

@SuperSpaghetti Metro is incredibly likely to be in the next direct, yes. It hasn't been announced yet despite all the leaks.

Come on Nintendo. You guys are killing me. I have a massive standardized test in the middle of the month and then start a 7 week surgery rotation. I could really use some Nintendo Direct goodness before all that starts

I would guess tomorrow morning is the cut off time for an annnoucement of a direct happening this week.. so if no announcement tomorrow, we'll probabaly have to wait a week

@NintendoByNature Why would tomorrow be the cut off? If it is announced tomorrow, it’ll be a Wednesday Direct almost certainly but could still be for Thursday. However if it is a Thursday Direct then Nintendo can still announce it on Wednesday.

@FragRed just my guess but I think they usually do directs on Wednesdays and i doubt they would announce a direct on Wednesday morning for a direct to be Wednesday afternoon. They can definitely do a Thursday direct and announce it tomorrow at some point. But I think the last few years most directs are on Wednesdays which is why i said that. Could be wrong though, Nintendo doesn't follow any rule book, let alone their own 😂

Let’s hope that Nintendo follows the trend of having a general Direct a week after a Pokemon direct🤞🏻

When have they done that? I usually ignore Pokemon Directs so can't really remember how the 2 are related.

@Ninja84 Pretty confident that trend will hold. Based on the video Matt Walker posted it sounds like there will be a direct on the 16th of January

The last 2 E3 Directs had Pokemon Directs a week before. The last one i cant remember exactly but think it was in 2017.

Somehow my gut is telling me that the next direct is early to mid February. It hasn’t been that long since the last direct if you count the indie one they did in December, plus those Game Awards announcements.

AC will definitely get its own, but that also seems like a February one as well.

@Dezzy He is a producer on the Devil May Cry games. He posted a video teasing a little something extra for switch and to keep an eye out for news on January 16th and 30th, and February 13th.

@NotTelevision I wouldn’t personally count the indie Direct as a main Direct and the Game Awards didn’t really show much for the Nintendo Switch. This is why people are eager for a Direct because we know little of what’s coming in the form of first party games this year.

And third party too. I'm thirsty for more ports
