I feel like it'll have to be January given we still don't know a ton about Animal Crossing, and have no idea if they have any schedule planned past March.
EDIT: Want to point out that the Indie Showcase usually precedes the Direct by several weeks and we've already had that, so that's my other main point.
I'm sure there will be a Direct next week or the week after. This is one of those big industry years where everyone is going to try to make as much noise as they can.
I never drive faster than I can see. Besides, it's all in the reflexes.
A Direct next week would be the earliest january direct ever and only 3 days after most people have returned from the holidays.. i just dont see it. Maybe the week after. If not we are in february because directs are never in the second half of months.
Assuming Smash DLC is still releasing this February, I'm fairly confidant that the Direct will be this month. No Smash Ultimate DLC character so far has been announced and released in the same month.
@Grumblevolcano
I was thinking general directs not game specific. It is also curious that we dont have any leaks (Metro Redux is not necessarily a direct reveal).
If a Direct was to happen before the update, I think it would've been announced today so now leaning towards January 8th to coincide with the usual Wednesday Direct time.
I can't be bothered to check. How often are they on Wednesday?
@Dezzy Every 2019 Direct except E3:
February 13th general Direct - Wednesday
February 27th Sword/Shield Direct - Wednesday
May 15th Mario Maker 2 Direct - Wednesday
June 5th Sword/Shield Direct - Wednesday
June 11th E3 Direct - Tuesday
September 4th general Direct - Wednesday
For 2018 it was mostly Thursday and before then it was pretty much a mixture of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
@Dezzy With the general Directs, the day is probably about timing with shadow drops. "Releases shortly after this presentation" is more exciting than "Releases tomorrow".
