@Slowdive I enjoyed listening to nate the hate walk back his prediction saying he's only as good as his sources and he only checks in his sources once or twice a month. Well maybe one you should check your sources more before making bold predictions and two perhaps you need better sources. Also he claims his podcast wasn't made to be at the forefront of leaking info yet that's exactly what he does and I'm sure that's where a large part of his followers come from. I much prefer spawnwaves simple rundown on the news. But hey it's great to have a half apology and an explanation that your sources either aren't great or you're too lazy to check on in them a day before.
And yes a nate the hate tweet on Tuesday that the date had shifted makes a big difference in if I should believe you as a video game leaker. Anyone can predict a direct. Details matter.
Lol I'm glad his #1 was the same as mine. Leaving out Galaxy 2 would be criminal. I'd say it's the best of the 3D games. I care about the Galaxy games a lot more than Mario 64, so I'm just hoping that a remastered Mario 64 doesn't become the core selling point of this. That's not to say I wouldn't appreciate a graphically improved 64, because I certainly would. But not if it comes at the expense of Galaxy 2.
@Dezzy Same, plus I think it should be really easy to remaster Galaxy 2 because both Galaxy games are basically the same mechanically, so once you've remastered one you've probably already done 80% of the work to bring over the other
I can't see them leaving out Galaxy 2 if they were to make a 3D Mario collection, that'd be a really bizarre decision and possibly a deal breaker for me. It's the best 3D Mario game. If for some strange reason one game needed to be sacrificed then get rid of Sunshine instead.

Well given that all they really need to do is render them in 1080p and 60fps, it's even more than you say. Getting Galaxy 1 to run is already doing 99% of the work needed for Galaxy 2.
I thought this vid was very informative on the subject. Might help you out a bunch.
Thanks for posting.
I'd be shocked if Nintendo aren't working on a new Mario game using the engine etc for Odyssey, I'd expecting it to be a direct sequel but who knows. Surely we can't only get one new mario game on the switch?
@Apportal been watching him for a few weeks too now. He's pretty good. I think his point about next Mario is fair about no main line "open world" Mario coming for a while BUT Nintendo also could be cooking anything up. Remember Galaxy was such a huge success on a huge system they made a sequel and same cards here. Really isn't impossible at all, could even say likely that there will be a sequel to Odyssey on the Switch
I think you also have to consider how early in the Switch lifespan Odyssey was released and that Nintendo are saying that it will have a lifespan of 6 or 7 years, I just can't see nothing happening for that amount of time.
Plus some reuse from Odyssey will reduce costs and possibly reduce the amount of development time.
