@Wargoose Huh? Min Min was the character meant for the E3 Direct. Don't forget that there's only 3 per year now, instead of the prior 5 in a year. They're going to spread them out more.
Anyways, I still am doubling down on September being the next actual direct, so probably nothing but a partner showcase mid-August before that.
I think we'll get a shadow drop between now and the 10th August and a nindie or partner showcase by the end of August. I don't think we'll have a Direct until E3 time next summer. Maybe we'll get a Mini if they have a few small games in development or they wanted to combine a mario announcement with something like gameboy or n64 games coming to NSO.
I think we'll get the Animal Crossing update reveal next week, a Partner Showcase in early August (my guess would be August 3rd as there's rumours about a PS5 State of Play on August 6th) that gives a release date for Bravely Default II among a few other announcements (perhaps a Square Enix focused Partner Showcase and that's where the rumoured Tomb Raider collection comes in), then Indie World in late August and then a normal Direct in early September.
@Dezzy@Wargoose what do you think the chances are that we'll see a Star Fox game on the switch?
If anniversaries become a thing for Nintendo, it will be the 30th in 2023, maybe we'll see some remasters and a new game! Development would be starting around now if they did that?
@MarioBrickLayer Sadly I think pretty low. The main issue with a lot of Nintendo's 2nd tier franchises, is their previous games were developed by people outside nintendo. F-Zero GX(sega), Starfox Assault(Namco), Kid Icarus Uprising(Sora). I think you're way more likely to see a new Pikmin game, or even a new Advance Wars game because the developers are in house. Unless there's someone actively pitching for a new Starfox/F-Zero I doubt it's gonna happen. The only reason Zero got made, was because Platinum really wanted to make it.
Star Fox Zero i could not get past the final boss with the 2 screen gameplay, and i basically toughed it out through the other levels. I did not enjoy it. I LOVE the Star Fox series, have been repeatedly playing Star Fox 64 for decades now.
I do wanna go back and play Star Fox Adventure and Star Fox Assault, as i never owned a Gamecube and thus never played those in the series.
CURRENTLY PLAYING
Switch: Xenoblade Chronicles
Playstation 5: Assassins Creed Shadows
Xbox Series X:
@Neoguardian86 Adventure is fun. It's not a Star Fox game though. Assault is pretty dang good, and with a bit of refinement could have been a good direction for the series.
As for a new Star Fox game...? Maybe in around 12 years I'd wager. 2032 sound like a good year for that to happen.
@Wargoose Advance Wars is external (Intelligent Systems) if you consider Sora Ltd. external. Sora Ltd may not exist in name any longer since it was only built for that one game, but the employees still work for Nintendo or are heavily associated with them.
@Neoguardian86
Yea, I love Star Fox, but I just couldn't do it. One of very, very few games (especially full-price games) that I bought and just disliked so much that I put it aside after a couple levels.
And such a simple fix would have been making the controls selectable.
@Neoguardian86 I played through the whole of Zero in Co-op with my wife, which made it so much easier.
Starfox Assault was great, it was just lacking in on rails sections. I haven't played it in ages but I believe there were only 3. It felt like there should have been more. The multiplayer mode was good fun.
@GraveDusk143 That was a long time ago. Pretty sure it was 5 or 6 years ago that Miyamoto confirmed Luigi was cut to be able to increase environmental complexity, and the textures were already located awhile back.
Because of all the leaks of SNES & N64 source codes, Nintendo has cancelled all upcoming games and Will brick everyone’s consoles. As a last troll like announcement, they’ll showcase an extra long Direct revealing all the glorious games you’ll never get to play because they’ve been cancelled and the files erased so they can’t be leaked. Then they’ll burn down their buildings and broadcast it live

So do you guys think, we'll see another Direct / game announcement next week?
If Nintendo plans to release a new game in September and wants to announce it 2 months in advance (like with Paper Mario), they'll have to do it this week.
@dionysos283 That’s the big question everyone will be asking. I’m gonna say no to an actual Direct and just a shadow drop. But I can’t bring myself to get fully behind anything being announced any time soon. It just seems Nintendo is not sure itself about whether it’ll release anything.
