@MarioBrickLayer As someone who doesn't believe the Mario collection is real, I think the rumours for that originated separately and when the Direct leak came about, it somehow got attached to it but the actual thing itself never existed.

The Mario rumours definitely did start before the direct ones, @FragRed .... But once Nintendo said that mini was for partners games, it was obvious those wouldn't be there It's entirely possible they do already have another mini lined up specially for the Mario games, though! The original rumours for those included 'a new Paper Mario game' & not long after, Origami King was announced
@dionysos283 They've already done stuff like clothing, Monopoly and Jenga. Had the pandemic not been around, there would've also been Super Nintendo World opening (it's Mario focused), Mario at the Olympics, etc.
Games aren't the only way to celebrate a franchise's anniversary.
@MarioBrickLayer@BruceCM Firstly, Paper Mario being rumoured isn't the most difficult thing to have guessed since we know there was going to be one for the Switch at some point, and seeing as most the big franchises now already have been released, Paper Mario kinda made sense to come out sooner rather than later. So could easily have been someone correctly guessing it. Was the person whom guessed Paper Mario also the one that guessed the Mario collection? I am genuinely asking as I do not know.
The reason I do not believe in the Mario collection is simply because this is modern day Nintendo we are dealing with. Why release a package containing multiple games when they can just do remasters of Sunshine and Galaxy 1 & 2 and release them all separately over a period of months all for full price each. They know damn well the fans will eat them up and will bring in easy money. Mario 64 would just be ROM dumped onto the Nintendo Online Subscription Service. Also Nintendo aren't really known for doing much to celebrate anniversaries. Why does 35th get a bigger release than the 30th which I would argue is the big milestone?

Did we, @FragRed .... ? I don't remember anyone predicting it before that rumour! People saying they'd LIKE a new Paper Mario, sure, not that there would be one Maybe the bit about a collection is mistaken & it is remasters like you're suggesting? I'm not sure if it was the original people that went into details Now, maybe they also got carried away & predicted too many games for it but there could still be something. I dunno, I'm not too concerned about them, myself; I'll try them if they come but if not, it doesn't matter to me, as such
It looks like we may not get anything this year anyway, Nintendo seems pretty unsure all of a sudden, due to the pandemic. Almost like the backfire from their fans over the mini Direct has somewhat forced Nintendo’s hands to admit there may well be delays in their upcoming games.

@Slowdive To be fair I would hardly call the 25th anniversary of All Stars anything special either. It was quite literally a ROM dump onto a disc of a game from the early 90s with a book and CD shoved in their. Pretty cheap and quick to stick together in fairness.

All the lego and clothing stuff aside, I would be pretty surprised, if Nintendo wouldn't release anything gaming related to celebrate Marios 35th anniversary.
Slowdive
For Mario's 30th anniversary Nintendo released the first Mario Maker.
If I remember correctly that was just good timing as it wasn't meant to be released as an anniversary celebration type game, it just happened to be the Mario game coming out that year.
People seem to be forgetting that Luigi had an entire year for his big anniversary.
Mario’s 30th anniversary was Super Mario Maker, so if you consider his 30th anniversary game Super Mario Maker 2 and maybe 3 in a few years, a Mario 3D All-Stars wouldn’t be too surprising.
Heigh Ho Heigh Ho. It’s off to work (from home) I go.
@BruceCM Current games meaning what though? This could easily just be smoke and mirrors. As Nintendo haven't said anything, they technically won't be delaying anything. Also, they are saying this assuming the pandemic isn't prolonged, which I fear is not going to be going away any time soon. Spikes are already being seen in various countries because of reopening too soon/quickly. And when the weather becomes cooler, it may again spread even quicker. I read it as Nintendo readying everyone for getting little to nothing new this year.
In regards to your message about Paper Mario, I didn't mean to imply anyone on this site openly suggesting it though I would not be surprised if we found it was bought up at some point as more of a throw away thought.

@jump Actually, SMM was intended for his 30th anniversary. Luigi did have a whole year, so Mario will too. It’ll just start I Need September and last until next September.
Just like what Switch Stop thinks:
You’ll notice I post lots of Switch Stop, it’s because they look at everything positively and discover a way it might actually help the rumours. As far as I know, they’re the only channel that does that and makes sense.

Yeah, it's tricky with Nintendo not liking to admit games are delayed, until they have to .... I would still expect some sort of announcement from them in the nearish future, even if it's a tweet announcing one game That's about all I thought they'd do before
@BabyYoshi12 IF and I mean if the 3D Mario collection was real, it won't be an All Stars type collection. All Stars was a full remake of the NES games including Lost Levels in the engine of Super Mario World which saw them get new graphics and music/sound and I assume some control refinements. I would not see Nintendo doing that for the 3D games. It would take way too much work and really isn't needed other than Mario 64 which needs a full on remake if it were re-released.

That said... it kinda debunks this being an anniversary celebration. Literally all the products for the 30th had that special logo stamped all over them, and nothing released this year (Monopoly, Jenga, Legos, etc), have had anything like that.
Isn't it Zelda's anniversary next year, too, @BabyYoshi12 .... ? I'm sure someone was saying about that & how there should be something for it! BotW 2 could well be intended for about the right time for that, anyway
