As only the 1st in a series of 'partner' minis, it was pretty good .... SMT is big enough news, surely? Admittedly, I was around when V was 1st promised for the NX, since it was before it even came out
See what optimism can get you? DON’T BE A PESSIMIST!!!!
To be honest, none of this sticks out to me. I’m excited to see where they go with these (cough FUSER info) but the big feeling of Directs is new game announcements which... doesn’t seem like will happen very often.
Heigh Ho Heigh Ho. It’s off to work (from home) I go.
Did we previously have any release info for Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin? Nintendo's US site now has it listed for Nov. 10, but I'm not sure if it was always like that.
@BruceCM I mean, it is a major new exclusive confirmed basically, considering it's been practically vaporware for the longest time. SMT III finally hitting Nintendo consoles is a bigger deal in Japan I suspect, since they'll have all 5 (well, 6 technically, or 8 is Strange Journey and If... are considered mainline?) games playable finally. 1&2 missing in the west takes away some of that impact.
Still, as one of the long-running coveted trio of announcements with Metroid Prime 4 and Bayonetta 3, I'm just glad we finally have a date. Of course, it feels like BotW2 might be taking its place but...
Followed the typical direct cycle of direct rumor with attached hype, announcement of direct with lowered expectations, reveal with devastating disappointment.
@Grumblevolcano
I was disappointed by the first Xbox thing (whatever they called it lol), the PS5 event, AND this. So I'm just an all-around grump these days. Though Paper Mario should be coming in the mail today or tomorrow, so I'm excited for that. I may even get desperate enough to give in and buy Animal Crossing, but I'm not there...yet.
The Cadence DLC, especially the 2nd and 3rd, seem pretty neat, though.
I'm slowly realizing that it's possible that I won't be buying any new game this year. Last game I bought was Luigi's Mansion 3. Since then nothing really interested me.
@Slowdive
I won't believe any rumors from now on. I was extremely hyped in February / March and got massively disappointed and now again. I've had enough unjustified hype for this year.

Whilst I can see Paper Mario and Animal Crossing aren't for everyone there's been some fantastic ports over the last few months to buy. The Wonderful 101, Bioshock, Xenoblade Chronicles, Borderlands, Saints Row, Burnout etc
The biggest problem is the second half of this year which looks barren both first and third party wise. As good as the SMT announcements are they are coming out next year which doesn't address the more pressing problem.
eh, the rumor was mostly right. These types of leaks are generally not entirely correct, so it's always good to go into them expecting some parts to be wrong. Even when Jeff Grubb predicted the exact date of the direct last time he was wrong about it being a Mini. Kelios predicted the exact day and hour that the direct would be announced but was also wrong about its content.
@jump
From the ones you mentioned, only Bioshock interests me. The other ones just didn't convince me to pay 60 bucks for. Maybe if they are for sale, idk.

There's others too like Catherine, X-Con 2, Tokyo Mirage Sessions, Metro Redux etc but if you're a Nintendo published game only gamer I can see the trouble but you are missing out on some real gems.
Not so much directed at you but I'm surprised the Saint Rows games don't get talked about more on here, they don't even get a thread.

That was part of Kelios' leak, but the main part was that they were the first to bring up a direct happening in July before anyone else and the first to state the date. They even said the hour when it would announced. They were wrong about the Mario collection though, but it's hard to ignore that they got the date and time info completely right.
A lot of people were piggybacking off of them and speculating about what the direct would have and say.
Yeah, that's often the problem .... The leaks take a grain of good info & mix it in with speculation! Which sometimes turns out to be accurate but is mostly not entirely, at best & sometimes completely wrong
