I bought a Switch about a month ago, and I haven't had a lick of trouble with the left JoyCon.

@ReaderRagfish I echo this guy.

My issue was the left control stick and getting...SOMETHING under there. As for connection I think it only disconnected once. My new left joycon hasn't gave me any issues yet.

I had the occasional drop outs in Zelda and Mario Kart. Annoying but not a deal braker.

Basically you want to make sure that there are no other Bluetooth devices nearby (or turn them off), like iPhone, computer (especially with wireless keyboard), headphones, etc.
Second, you need a direct line of sight.
If you consider this, it should be fine.

However, Bluetooth lag (overall slower button press) is still noticeably for me on both joycons (L and R). At least when playing Jump N Run games like Celeste or DKCTF. So meanwhile I prefer to play action games in handheld only.

This January I bought a switch, which gave me many problems and I had to return it to the seller. So now I would like to buy one with the joycon that has the new circuit, as seen from the images of the patent. Do you know if those on sale are like this now?

I've only had connectivity issues when there's something like an electronic device (example, a 3ds, a laptop) in between the joycon and the switch.
