We got a switch for Xmas which has gone down well with the family so we're thinking of getting another but I'll want to move one of the 3 games to the new switch so we don't loose all the progress. From what I've researched we can't because all 3 games have been played under the same user account. It's all or nothing. Does anyone know a work around for this e.g. if there is a way to copy the game to the micro SD Card and move some of the files? Or perhaps another technique?
The problem is if it was not the main account then you can move the data over maybe but you need to talk to Nintendo Support as they are the one that controls the account management and what can and can't be transferred.
I don't think Nintendo support can help because my account isn't setup online yet it's just on the device. I've made a 2nd account but I can't move just 1 of the have to it. I'm hoping a cleaver person knows a way to do this by modifying the files.
As far as I know, a game is always linked to the account that bought it. Otherwise you could be giving games away or illegally selling them.
But if you have more than one profile in a single Switch all those profiles can play the game. It's just not transferrable.
I don't quite understand your situation, but maybe you gave that original Switch to someone and want to keep playing a game in a new one? Anyway I don't think you can just have one profile in two Switches. If you could that would be the way to go: having that profile in another Switch and play the game there after redownloading it.
