@Grumblevolcano I can’t tell you the number of times I have read the comments sections and wanted to lament the loss of Super Mario Bros 35. I had SO much fun with that game.

-Main series Pokemon games (RBY, GSC, RSE, FRLG)- GB and GBA
If these ever surface, I suspect that they will get their own app(s) so that the save data can be isolated from the other NSO apps, allowing for Pokémon to be transferred to more recent games via Pokémon Home.
Of course that's wishful thinking on my end. And I would absolutely kill for a physical release of all of the Gen I-III games (though I'd be happy with just Gen II, if I absolutely had to settle for just one generation). In lieu of a tentpole Pokémon release on Switch this year or a remake of Gen II/V in the foreseeable future, I'd be chuffed as chips just to be able to play the originals.
And if there's local wireless multiplayer included, then I would buy two copies without hesitation.
It would be such easy money for Nintendo/TPCi that it's utter madness that such a release hasn't materialised in order to tide us over in the meantime (while giving young fans an opportunity to experience the classics).
@Sisilly_G@Bolt_Strike I don't think Gen 1-3 will ever come to Switch or future Nintendo hardware outside of modern remakes like how Let's Go is a Yellow remake. The whole Balatro mess suggests that the reason Gen 1-3 isn't on the Switch is because of Game Corner gambling. Even with the changes made in the 3DS VC version, Gens 1 and 2 still got a 12+ rating (the Wii U VC release of DS Mario games also got 12+ rating because of Luigi's gambling minigames) so they would likely get 18+ ratings nowadays given the new rules from 2020 onwards.
I really doubt Nintendo would allow Pokemon (or Mario) to be 18+ rated so they'd avoid releasing the games in their current form.
@Sisilly_G I honestly think we will get them, as they were on 3DS VC, but I do think it will come with a slight price increase or to a separate app. I think them potentially being higher age-rated now is also an easy fix, as in Japan, Nintendo made an 18+ app for N64 NSO.
Loving this topic so far btw - I thought they were running out of stuff to add to NES and SNES, but there's still so many. The Satellaview games are a particularly awesome idea .
@Grumblevolcano I did some research on this and apparently this does not apply to ports. The age rating would remain for older games that retain the same content.
@Sisilly_G@Bolt_Strike
If not the main Pokemon games, which I do think should happen, then at least do Pokemon Pinball with full rumble support. Wasn't on the 3DS VC, isn't on NSO, these games are great and are almost entirely lost to time. They're also not cheap on the used market

With Mario Golf just being announced for GBC NSO, I wonder if it will have the connectivity with Mario Golf N64 NSO. It could inform how possible it will be for them to connect Pokemon Stadium with Red and Blue, if they're ever added.
I could've sworn Mario Tennis (GBC) was already on NSO. I guess it shows how much I actually pay attention to the GB portion of NSO. However much it is it's less than I probably should given my love of the GB(C)
But still, Mario Tennis, anyone who hasn't played it most definitely should. IMO comfortably a top 10 GB(C) game. Comfortably one of the better playing 2D Tennis games ever made but also with a full RPG career mode built into it. Admittedly I have a huge amount of nostalgia for this game but... I also don't remember ever really playing as Nintendo characters in it. It was just a cool little Tennis RPG that happened to have Mario on the box

I am hoping we get some more for GBA next. Metroid: Zero Mission, Zelda: Four Swords, Kirby: Nightmare In Dreamland, Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones, Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge and Klanoa would all be amazing choices.
@ElRoberico I'm surprised by how long it's taking to get through the last 2 Direct NSO batches, September 2022 Direct N64 batch took 15 months to complete and February 2023 Direct GB/GBA batch still has 2 games left (1 worldwide GBA, 1 Japan only GB) 13 months later.
I wonder if part of the reason GBA's library is so small is that N64 turned out to be more difficult to do competent emulation of (as we saw when they accidentally broke the fog effects for a while) so they're consistently behind on that.
Though it feels designed to be annoying to me specifically that basically only NES and SNES has 3rd party deep cuts, so the actual systems where I'd appreciate the obscure and sometimes less than great games like N64 and GBA have so far gotten none of them outside of I guess Winback. Like maybe Blast Corps, but only really by the standards of N64 Rare games. (I bet more people know about it than basically any of Nintendo's download only games this gen tbh)
Does anyone think we might get more classic consoles added to NSO in the next Direct, now that F-Zero Max Velocity is coming as the final game that was previously announced?
