If I miss some moons playing the game how do you go back to find them?

Any moons you've overlooked won't be lost for good, they will just remain uncollected until you find them. You can always go back to other kingdoms to find more, just throw Cappy at the globe once you come back to the Odyssey (that's the red hat-shaped airship), then select the kingdom you want to come back to.
