@JaxonH I think you're too sure of something that can easily shift around. It's only because MH hasn't been challenged with a good game of equal prominence that it's lasted this long, and it's but a matter of time before a good challenger steps up to the plate. People don't buy with cold logic, they won't just forget that Capcom left them in the proverbial sht, hell you know as well as I do that people bought a Switch, hoping to play MH, and those people got a smack in their face with MHW and XX.

The attitude you post above, is how such companies get away with just about anything, because people are money bags to be exploited, that will buy their stuff anyway. If they never set their foot down, nothing will change.

@UmniKnight
Nah. People been saying that for 15 years. There will never be another game to rival MH. Mark my words.

@JaxonH At least people are trying, like the vanguard guys, and maybe if MH does get universal acclaim via MHW, then people will see potential, and try to get some of that pie.

@JaxonH They were talking about it on Spawnwave and Supermetaldave has been hinting at it. Most likely it will be all digital.

Honestly, I would still buy another Sony handheld. I am anxiously awaiting this stream to see if it will be a portable. If it is and Monster Hunter Worlds is announced for it I can see it being day 1 for me. Most likely the battery will only last one hour though lol

Think of the company-customer relationship as that of a parent and their child. Both are prone to various tactics and arguments in attempts to get what they want out of the other. But it all boils down to who has the most authority, and that belongs to the parent, or company. It doesn't really matter how well the child or customer argues their case, if the parent doesn't want to give, all they have to do is ground, banish to the room or deny various other privileges to have the final say, with the child unable to do anything about it. Likewise it doesn't really matter how vocal fans are, if a company sees making a game as unprofitable for any reason they simply won't do it.

Oh, and Capcom never promised anything about the upcoming ''NX'', so you can't really say they've ''betrayed'' you. That's just expectations mutating into a misled reality, aka taking something for granted.

@meleebrawler I've not said betrayed, but the fact remains that their current course of action is more than enough reason to seriously doubt, and no longer trust in Capcom. It was on Nintendo handhelds for the longest of time, with the Switch allowing the West to play home-console, while Japan retains their beloved handheld, how could MH not be a perfect fit for the Switch? Add to that, the fact that Capcom is testing the entirety of the Switch, with first a remake of a remake, that being USF2, and then MHXX in 1 country, when the support probably goes for the entirety of the Switch, doesn't matter what country we're talking about. Out of all those testing the Switch, none have done so with a game bound to a single country. It's absolute madness.

And I believe your analogy is wrong. A child does not have any authority, but consumers do. If consumers do something en-masse, they can force a developer/publisher to change their actions, an example of this: http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/04/29/controversial-total-wa... they make their living on us, our money, as a consumer. If it wasn't so hard to mobilize a large force of like-minded people to make an impact, I'm sure Capcom would've felt the heat already. Not that they haven't, with people taking every chance to have the message come across of "Localize XX" on their social media pages and the coverage it's already gotten.

So tell me then, Meleebrawler, why would I give Capcom my money for their games, if they don't support my platform of choice, with the games that I do want?

Whatever happens, I just hope Switch continues to get MH games as well as having them localized...I still want World Portable on here. At the same time...I feel like they're going to westernize World even further, and give it paid dlc...and season passes...ugh...Just a feeling...

Also, I had a dream where MHFU was announced for Switch...I hate my dreams, they torment me too much. TwT

@UmniKnight Because you're not as big of a fan of the series as you'd like everyone to believe? Nothing wrong with that. You pledged your support to a platform, knowing that there was no Monster Hunter to be found or promised early on. Doing so speaks to trust in Nintendo, not Capcom, so the real reason you likely bought the system is knowing of all the other great games releasing for it. If you really only bought it for Monster Hunter you would have waited for one to surface. Did you only get a 3DS to play that too?

@meleebrawler I have Generations on 3DS, but the small screen and cramped controls are off-putting. I've been waiting for a console experience MH since the last one on Wii-U. Also, just for the record, I will buy MHW, but the question remains if MHW will be good, and whether it lives up to the hype.

But I'm looking from more than just my own perspective. I'm also looking at the people who want a portable MH experience in the West. And what of the 3DS version of XX? It's arguably even more quiet surrounding that one.

Also, just for the record, every MH I've played (except for Generations, because I got sick of the 3DS' screen and controls) I've gone to the highest HR monster available, and done many of the DLC quests. I love the series, but I'm not 100% sold/sure on MHW, and it's just sad for the people that have come to love the game but really value it's portability aspect.

Let's just say I enjoy Nintendo and MH, and I would've loved to see those continue their strong showing together, that's all.

@Joeynator3000 They've announced that the free "DLC" plan from past games will still be present. So that's not something that you need to worry about any time soon.

@UmniKnight Rumor has it they are already working on one. I'd expect an early 2019 release for Japan-- I feel like the biggest point of concern is whether Capcom would bother with localization.

@CrazedCavalier Aye, but the thing with rumours is that they're not set in stone. The guy in question may have had it right the first time, with the World announcement, but that doesn't set him up to, infallibly, be right again this time. Ever since Capcom gave the "No" followed by that PR "No plans" I've deigned not give them an ounce of my good will and trust any-more. After all, they've ditched Sony just as easily back then, what is to say they don't do it again with Nintendo?

And, of course as you've said yourself, even if they do make it, they still have to localize it.

@UmniKnight Capcom's a leaky ship; World was rumored months before the trademark (on top of the MVCI stuff). Even though XX Switch only sold through half its shipment, I don't see them stalling any in-development titles.

By the time you get to high rank online quests, I'll be done playing Mario + Rabbids.
