There are so many moons. I seem to be finding moons every five minutes (doesn't help that I comb every bit of an area). Not sure whether this is a perfectly good thing, to be honest... Part of the appeal in finding stars/sprites in 64/Sunshine/Galaxy was the satisfaction of finally reaching a star or a Shrine Sprite. And since they were relatively few (compared to how many moons Odyssey apparently has), the appeal was even greater. It's very fun to explore in this game, but I don't need to be rewarded with a moon EVERY TIME I find a secret corner!
So, when can I use my amiibo? I'm in the sand Kingdom, about to take on the boss. Still doesn't do anything when I hit the right Dpad button, which the game says is to use amiibo
Psalms 22:16 (1,000 yrs before Christ)
They pierced My hands and feet
Isaiah 53:5 (700 yrs before Christ)
He was pierced for our transgressions
Zachariah 12:10 (500 yrs before Christ)
They will look on Me whom they pierced
Yeah Best Buy messed up my order, I was supposed to get it yesterday but it looks like I will be getting it Monday. I know right where it is as well, and I don't think I can just go the UPS facility and get it there.
On a side note, I personally will never pre-order anything from Amazon as they have screwed me over, I got the Kirby Dream Collection two weeks after the release date.
Do you think that the game will have a DLC like zelda?
Stop to hang up on STUPID LITTLE THINGS! Play Wii U! ;-)
ANASTACIA: THE NEW ALBUM "EVOLUTION" INCLUDING THE NEW SINGLE "CAUGHT IN THE MIDDLE" OUT NOW! ;)
Speaking of the Metro Kingdom ending there has to be a way to get back there considering there's a secret in it...so it makes me wonder if it's a special case where you can talk to Pauline again, or if you somehow replay all the special events again at some point. Anyway if it's a post-game thing I'd rather not know.
Also I found out the hard way that you need to wait for the capture mode instructions to disappear before you snap the picture...I had a few pictures showing the instructions and the reticle so I had to delete them. It makes sense, but I though the game would be smarter about it.
@Haru17 Good to know about the Lake Kingdom. I will get every other moon possible before that one.
I would have never guessed Weezing was so useful until I played a HeartGold Nuzlocke! My YouTube Channel! Video game related, of course! My Pushmo Levels
I just made it past the tastiest and ugliest kingdom. Really now, they shouldn't have released it while that world still looked like a low poly indie game. Even the cheese platform levels in Galaxy looked better. New Donk City's NPCs were a much better way to make something look distinct on a budget. My only little gripe with the soundtrack so far is the underwhelming challenge room tune, the OST is alternatively thrilling and peaceful when it needs to be.
About the final episode of New Donk City...
Donkey Kong was in the game, but he wasn't really in the game, a sprite from 30-odd years ago that Nintendo right clicked and copied was. And then he falls off the screen and never says anything.
Barring some endgame content, I've gotta say I'm disappointed that they didn't take the opportunity to make an ambitious King Kong sequence with their IP that started as a King Kong reference and the level that was a New York City reference.
The 2D mechanics could also use some work, the physics are different from classic Mario but you still can't ground pound or wall jump. I like that they explain that the girders in the original DK arcade games were NDC when it was being constructed, though. Let's hope this becomes a recurring level in Mario games.
About the Seaside Kingdom, I loved it so, so much. That ocotpus capture is literally just F.L.U.D.D out of Sunshine and exploring the reefs is a blast. I'm enjoying the game, I just don't appreciate it when teases like NDC don't pay off in AAA games.
Of all those Broodal rabbits I hate that red-haired one the most. While the others and all of the other bosses I've encountered up till now are super easy, this guy just annoys me so much. And it isn't that he covers most of the arena in poison but that I have such a hard time getting him to suck up Cappy. I throw Cappy at him the moment he begins to suck in air but he won't cough and get stunned. Only boss I've died to thus far.
Phew, I beat the game. What an ending, I have thoughts.
If we're to believe Cat Bowser was preparing us for Japanese Bowser, then are they both preparing us for Odyssey 2's Japanese Cat Bowser!? The moon was a very predictable twist seeing as the moon is like four times its natural size in the sky, but a fun one nonetheless.
Kind of needlessly spoiled the final boss battle 1/3 way through the game, but the escape sequence was cool. Odyssey ends like a Halo game with the musical sensibilities of Sonic Adventure. I couldn't even hear the lyrics with all the rock effects playing everywhere. Also where did Bowser get a dragon and can I also get a dragon? But yeah, Galaxy 1 still wears the boss battle crown, especially for the awesome planetoid-ground-pounding final boss inside of a hollow star. Odyssey felt more like Galaxy 2 on that front, what with the reused bowser boss fight.
I'm excited to explore the end game and see what the weird moon rock / companion cube things actually do, but for now I need to stop playing. That moon cavern and boss battle gauntlet was really grating on me.
I think my biggest problem with this game, is that sadly, in a game, everything in the game is meant to be done. 100% is meant to be achieved.
But this game, like Breath of the Wild, has that. It wants you to do it. But its not interesting. A lot of it isn't fun. Its there, to be done, but the game seems actively against you doing it and I don't know why.
