I'm getting it, since some of my favorite tracks never made it in, but also because they're including Tour. Never played Tour, or plan to, so it'll be nice to check out some tracks from that in a normal game.
Also pointed this out in the article, I want Wario Stadium from 64. I know they'll likely fix that exploit that I used way back then, lightning bolt on everyone right before the big jump and forcing them to go around again, still a fun track though. xD
Also wished I could say Rainbow Road 64...because the one in 8 is...why the stupid checkpoints thing instead of a normal 3 laps? It's not THAT long, sheesh, lol.
Looking at Coconut Mall footage in the trailer, we can see advertisements featuring Noshi from Dino Dino Jungle, as well as one for Vanilla Lake from Super Mario Kart (not specified if it's 1 or 2, or potentially RMX).
I think it's also worth noting that both Coconut Mall and Shroom Ridge are not in Tour yet. Assets tied to Coconut Mall were datamined, but no one expected Shroom Ridge. Thus, as the DLC seems to be reliant on Tour models, we can potentially expect these tracks that were datamined:
SNES Ghost Valley 2/3
N64 Luigi Raceway
GBA Luigi Circuit
GBA Yoshi Desert
An unknown new GBA Bowser Castle
GCN Daisy Cruiser
GCN Waluigi Stadium
GCN DK Mountain
Wii Toad's Factory
Wii Dry Dry Ruins
3DS Wuhu Loop
3DS Maka Wuhu
Amsterdam
Bangkok
While not confirmed directly by filenames, as was the case with Shroom Ridge, there are other tracks that we might see as well (namely N64 Moo Moo Farm, one of the GCN Mushroom tracks, DS Delfino Square, Wii Mushroom Gorge, Wii Koopa Cape, and Cairo)

Yeah Rainbow Road 64 they should have just trimmed it to two laps, ala Wario Colosseum from Double Dash. One Lap feels too quick now lol.
Speaking of Wario Colosseum, Iād like that track in it.
To be fair, any track from 64, Double Dash or Wii would please me.
I'd really like to see all the real world inspired Tour tracks make it in. I played Tour for a short period and I thought those were a pretty fun idea, though as tracks rotate in & out I only got to try a couple during the time I was playing.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
I think we'll get all the tracks from Tour, as in if you look at the Booster Course Pass list and the Mario Kart Tour list at the end of 2023 they'll be exactly the same. Tour is a mobile game so sometime in the future there'll be no way to play it, servers will be shut off and phones/tablets above and below certain iOS and Android versions won't be compatible with it.
So in this prediction MK8 Deluxe essentially preserves Tour's tracks.
@Grumblevolcano But it's still DLC, meaning that it itself would go away later as well. It's the same thing that's happened with Smash 4 and MK8 DLC on Wii U.

@Fizza They've done game + DLC on the cart before, both in the form of porting Wii U games to Switch but also there's Switch games like Sword/Shield and Splatoon 2.
@Grumblevolcano They've put the DLC on cart with SwSh? I had heard of S2 doing that but never SwSh. I might have to get Sword if I can find a copy like that.
Regardless, I do suppose they could do that (putting it all on cart later) but considering how they haven't done that tactic with other highly popular Switch games like Smash or BOTW (yet), I have my doubts. Plus, if they were to do that, it would be much later on since this DLC won't even be finished until 2023.

@Fizza They actually have done it with BotW. BotW and Splatoon 2 physical versions with DLC on the cart were announced at the same time. Smash is an odd one because while there isn't anymore DLC, I'm pretty sure there's still updates to come which'll add amiibo support for the Fighters Pass 2 characters.
As for timing, obviously physical version with DLC on the cart wouldn't happen until after all MK8 Deluxe DLC had been released.
I predict that I am going to get this expansion pack. LOL.
Honestly, I am just happy that more tracks are coming.
My family and I have been playing MK8 since we got it with our Wii U.
2 items is a nice upgrade. But that was basically all that changed from MK8 and MK8D.
With the additional tracks, we will have something to look forward to each month. LOL.
And, I guess we could always dust off our Game Cube, Wii, DS or 2DS to play more tracks. But with the tracks coming to Switch, it is just that much easier to focus on one console.
I'm absolutely getting this DLC. I think $25 for 48 courses is a fantastic deal, plus I know for sure that we're getting Coconut Mall. I'm sure we're also getting Waluigi Pinball. I would love to see Maple Treeway, Koopa Cape, and Delfino Plaza.

I don't think this is going to happen, but I wish they would throw in the R versions of the tracks. R variants are one of the best mechanics Tour's come up with and I'd really like to see it crossover into the console Mario Kart games. Plus, it would give the Booster Pack even more content and better variety than just "here's the same old courses you've played in 2 other games".
I'm hoping for the real world location tracks that have been exclusive to Tour to make the move. I think I've played Tour once, so those tracks would be a fresh experience for me. Based on the first wave, it does seem like that's the direction Nintendo intends to go in. Beyond that, I would love to double up on Waluigi and Wuhu Island tracks through the DLC: Waluigi Stadium, Waluigi Pinball, Wuhu Loop and Maka Wuhu.
As for getting the Booster Pass, I have it pre-ordered. $25 for 48 tracks is a great offer, and I'm looking forward to Mario Kart DLC news being a part of major Directs going forward.

This was a surprise, I thought they are going to announce MK9, but 48 restored Tracks for 25ā¬ is good. Otherwise it makes sense to me to support MK8 as it's still very successful und popular. I will get them one day since I have no hurry about it.
