Topic: Let's Support 3rd party games this month!

Cmon guys this is our chance! Support Doom. Skyrim .La Noire and make them sell as well as Odyssey!! Let's show them we Want 3rd party AAA games on Switch! I got a gut feeling Doom and Skyrim will do veeeeery well. Do you?? 😉😉

I want third party games (preferably on a card) but I don't want them to fleece me dry. It's all well and good preaching buy everything so they keep releasing stuff, but at the same time, they need us more than we need them.

Already been supporting Square Enix, Ubisoft, Koei Tecmo and Namco already (plus various others). They have shown developer practices I can fully support. Take Two/Rockstar however I won't support. I feel they have a long way to go for me personally.

I'm looking to support Bethesda, Sega, Nicalis, Devolver Digital and Suda51 as well due to their approaches as well. Their practices on the Switch so far are really appealing to me.

I'm not supporting any retail game that will force me to download half of it despite paying full price for the cartridge. So DOOM and L.A. Noire are, unfortunately, already off my radar.

I'll probably pick up Skyrim though. IIRC the Ps4/XBO versions were only around 12GB in size, so that should be available to fit on the cartridge without a required download.

For the record, DOOM's multiplayer is the only part of the game you have to download. And not many people actually like it and say you aren't missing out. They say the main draw is the single player

Yeah, I'm well aware and I agree that it is a more acceptable solution compared to L.A. Noire - but it's still not good enough IMO.

I was tempted to cancel LA Noire out of anger over the whole download thing, but screw it. Better than a 30gb digital release.

I'm just happy to see some of these games on Switch.

I will buy Skyrim and Doom but LA Noire is out of the question.
I want cartridges that when I insert them in the console I can press play and start the game NOT the download.

Sad to see and pissed at rockstar!! I wanted Noire ready out if the box like Doom! I preferred Doom .canceled on Noire due the crappy download.

I have already bought Skyrim. I'll probably buy Doom too but later. I'm not interested in LA Noire I don't think I'll buy it... I don't know much about it but usually I'm not very interested in games that lean towards realism that much I prefer fantasy themed games

I am going to pick up Skyrim. Honestly, I never played it before. I won't pick it up at the release date I think (although I hope for huge sales numbers at the release) because I am still busy with Odyssey, Stardew Valley and writing my final thesis (takes a lot of time) unfortunately!

Isn’t it bizarre that we are talking about “supporting” million dollar companies and that we should need to encourage 3rd parties to what is so far a great selling console. Loads of amazing titles are coming to the Switch and I’ll be buying because I wanna to play them not as a bribe to hopefully influence future support. Anyway I’m of to support McDonald’s as I don’t want them to stop making Egg McMuffins.

@BigBadJohn They won't stop making egg McMuffins, but they will stop selling them in your area if they aren't selling. Not the best analogy but you have a McDonalds because they make money there. If they didn't then they would relocate to a place that buys from them.

Im picking up Sonic, Doom and Skyrim. ill get LA Noire probably in December after Xenoblade. Too many games..not enough money

My support for 3rd parties will go to the games I want to play (Doom, Skyrim). In theory buying copies of FIFA might influence EAs future switch support but I don’t want to play FIFA so I’m not buying it. I’m a consumer, give me something I want to play and I’ll buy it. If 3rd parties can’t see the value of the growing Switch user base then so be it.

For me, it's more a matter of "Let's cancel your 3rd Party pre-orders this month".

L.A. Noire is off the list. I still really want this game, so I will buy it later, used, cheap.
WWE 2K18 is off the list. I wait for 2K19 and hope the publisher learnt something.
Yeah, even DOOM is off the list (but for different reasons). I will buy it later a bit cheaper.

Since I canceled 3 pre-orders, I now only have Skyrim and Xenoblade 2 left for this year, which is still plenty of goodness and content for the next months.

It was hard for me to cancel L.A. Noire, but I will find a used copy some time in the years with my Switch.

The money I saved from my cancellations will be transfered to other Switch games like This Is The Police, and maybe Nights of Azure 2 and Rime.

@BigBadJohn As I always say; Buy the games you want to play. It's absolutely fine to try out something different once in a while, but don't buy games for the sake of "supporting" a company.
