Double dipping for sure. Glad to be playing the Legends content as well because I've never played that version much and didn't like the WiiU as a console enough to download the Legends warriors onto the OG game.

I loved Legends on the 3DS but I feel like it would really be worth double dipping for the extra content and the vastly improved graphics. It's not going to be a high priority, but will definitely pick it up if I find a good deal on it.

Remind yourself that overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer.
Played both the Wii U and 3DS version (got the limited edition New 3DS XL for it) and played them both. Got further with the 3DS version as i could play it more (at work over my lunch). Never fully completed them but had a lot of hours of fun, wish you could transfer saves as some of those trials were very annoying and i could pick it up from where i last played.
But still, will not stop me from buying it again, never thought i would ever buy 3 versions of the same game
Now I'm glad I held on the n3DS version. I spent a crazy amount of time on the Wii U version, which was the main reason I put Legends on the back burner. But now, this Definitive edition looks great. Soooooo much content here, easily worth $60.
Triple dipping in my case. I had downloaded on the Wii U, then got it on my n3DS when it came out. Digital of course. Game is still sitting on a hard drive that was connected to it.
This game was loads of fun. Looking forward to it on the Switch!
I had some fun with this on WiiU but am just not the kinda guy who double dips.
I do honestly wonder if LoZ as a franchise being in the spot light so much at the moment is the reason this is being ported. If so I think A Link Between Worlds as a budget eshop title would have been better.
I assume one of the reasons is because Koei Tecmo likes money. IIRC Hyrule Warriors did way, waaaay better than the vast majority of the Warriors games.
If this was the first release of Hyrule Warriors, it would probably sell at least triple what the Wii U version did tbh.
I will say though, Hyrule Warriors is such an odd, slightly divisive game that I'm not sure this port will do as well as people expect. In the context that based on all evidence, this should STILL sell triple what the Wii U version did, but I have my doubts on that. It'll still do well I'm sure.
I did enjoy the Wii U version immensely (nothing beats a good hack n slash). The 3DS version was simply for portability. Now we are getting the best of both worlds, with the bonus of botw link and zelda, hence the moniker "The Definitive Edition". Look forward to this.
Now if Koei Tecmo will just localize the other three Warriors titles for the Switch. They're already released in japan and translated on other systems... seriously, it couldn't cost much to release them in the west, even if they were digital only.
