I personally skipped Legends, thought it looked pretty ugly and didn't own a new 3DS to play it at a presentable resolution and framerate.
The Switch port was what I initially wanted as DLC on the Wii U version, but to finally see the 3DS content at the Wii U version's quality might be enough for me to buy it again.
However, I can't blame the few who bought the game on the Wii U and 3DS to feel burnt out by now.
I am so glad I held off on Legends. I rather wanted it, but I had a feeling there would be an ultimate edition released for the Switch. This is going to suck up so much of my time once I get it.
I know it's a port, but as I have never gotten around to playing this, this was my favorite announcement from the direct. I have held off on buying the Wii U version in hopes of this coming, and now it is. Not to try to beat BOTW before it releases.
I've never played this. I was so close to buying it on the New 2DS XL but I held off for the Switch port. I'm so glad I did. Day one purchase for me. The game comes out Spring 2018 like most of the games announced and it comes with all the DLC from the Wii U one along with Breath of the Wild costumes. Definitely worth it, considering the Wii U's game was $60 and the season pass was $10. Then they added Legends character pack that costed $13. Next a hero of hyrule pack for $20. This means that in total it would cost $103 for all the content on the Wii U minus the BOTW costumes. Now it's (99% chance) only $60 and you can take it on the go in HD
@Seacliff I haven't played FE warriors. (Not enough hours in the day!) I just assumed Hyrule Warriors would be less demanding. Happy to be wrong as always lol
I never drive faster than I can see. Besides, it's all in the reflexes.
Held off on the 3DS version since everyone said it was complete garbage on the regular 3DS and never bought any of the Wii U DLC, so I'm glad I'll be able to play a functional version of the complete game now.
@BezBot Your calculations are off as there's content that the 3DS version received that Wii U didn't and vice versa meanwhile the Switch version gets everything.
So the Switch version is equivalent to the combination of all these:
Hyrule Warriors - $60
2014 Wii U Season pass (Hero of Hyrule pack) - $20
Hyrule Warriors Legends - $40 (includes a Wii U Legends Character Pack code for free)
2016 Wii U + 3DS Season pass (Legends of Hyrule pack) - $20
If you want to be really picky you could add the costume DLC for Wii U too but even without it you've essentially got $140 (Wii U + 3DS) vs. ~$60 (Switch).
My Top 9 Favorite Games of All time.
1. Judgement
2. Baldur's Gate 3
3. Bully (Rockstar)
4. Person 4 / Golden
5. Sonic Adventure 2
6. Xenoblade X
7. Ape Escape 2
8. Animal Crossing: New Leaf
9. James Bond 007 Nightfire
Well since none of my favorite series isn't getting the Warriors treatment anytime soon, guess I'll give this game another try. I never got far after the story...(never bothered with any DLC, either)
I think part of it was leveling all my characters up, since some of the quests/missions/whatever in that map mode were near impossible at low levels. lol
