Gonna buy some some spare Joy-Con shells, figured out how to take the actual controllers apart, but how would I paint a pair of gloss finish blue Joy-Con shells? Or another option, who could paint them for me?

I just wanna know where to buy joycon buttons and how to paint joycons.

Krylon Fusion might be an option. It's meant for plastics. It's supposed to bond to it.

Old post, and you've probably already painted, but if not.

Scuff up shells a bit. Nothing too bad, just a light scuff all over with some sandpaper. Getting them and sandpaper wet first helps a lot. No need to remove original paint or anything.

Clean and wipe off real good with water and then let dry completely. Don't touch as much as possible (oil in hands).

Once dry, paint with color of your choice with a plastic specific paint from any hardware store. Most plastic paints don't require primer. It'll say on can. If it doesn't, then you'll need a plastic primer first.

Spray in light coats. No need for full coverage first time or two. A lot of thin coats are better than a a few thick coats. 5-10 minutes between coats should be fine.

Repeat with a clear coat. Clear coat will let you new finish last longer and protect it, etc. Again, you want a few thin coats.

Let dry for a day or two, and tada, you have new controller shells.

Biggest key here is patience.

@Old_Goat_Ninja Nice post, and you make it sound easy, but I dread to think what my first effort would turn out like.

You guys had me at blood and semen.

What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
