Topic: Help Please: 3 Switches 2 Animal Crossing Game Purchases 2 islands

My husband made a family account for all 3 of our switches. I was able to buy my own copy of Animal Crossing on my personal switch and one for my older daughter's console. I'm not sure why our youngest can't have her own copy. It said it is already purchased and blacked out on the eShop. I'd really like for my youngest to have her own copy so she can have her own island instead of being a secondary player to my island.

Because Animal Crossing only has one island per Switch. You would need to buy a Switch for your youngest.

The way games work on the switch itself is where it's one copy per console. Unlike the 3DS, the game save data saves to the system and not the game card, so buying multiple copies will just let you play the same save. It's a blessing, since that means that if you lend a game to a friend they won't damage your save file, or if you lose the game you only need to buy another copy and retain the save.. however it's also a curse, in the aspect that if you lose the console, unless you back it up via the cloud, you lose the game save as well, or games like animal crossing where you're effectively just forced to get another console if you want another save.
