I double checked and it is set as my primary console. It better be cause i don't have my original anymore to change any settings on it. Maybe the eshop downloads just do that check thing if you haven't had it online in a while. I certainly don't remember that message about checking to see if games can be played popping up for anything but the Switch online retro console apps though. I have alot of eshop downloads and they always would just start right up before. No internet connection required.

@Truegamer79 I wonder if something else can be done that's more thorough than deregisterrig your old console or making your new console your primary? I guess I would consider contacting nintendo support if nobody else can suggest a solution.

@Eel
I checked a couple of them and the first time it does that checking thing. I tried loading the same games a second time and they started right up. I guess it's fine as long as i don't have my switch offline for a real long time but i swear eshop downloads never used to require a connection to internet to play them. Weird.

@Truegamer79 there’s a chance it could be simply because it’s the very first time the system is loading the game.

Like how when you pre-download a game.

@Eel

Yeah that makes sense. It is a new model.

sorry to bump an old thread but do you think I could do the same with my switch lite? i broke the screen connector when trying to do a shellswap (something I won't tell nintendo) and would like it fixed. thinking about selling my OLED to pave the way for switch2 and would like my lite to be fixed lol.
