@Woomy_NNYes Yeh, any car. What I liked about it so much were the reflections on the inside of the windscreen and on the dash. When you're driving at speed and just focused on the race, it feels really immersive.

Maybe it's no better than other racing games on the market, IDK cos I don't play them all, but I played F7 first, then FH4, and F7 impressed me most graphically.

You guys had me at blood and semen.

What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?

@Spoony_Tech has his/her finger on the pulse with new Grid info
Very promising.
Using my wired original gamecube controler is not appealing to me. I don't want to get an adapter for my old cube controller. I'm open to recommendations. I don't know what would be best. I'd like something new/wireless, not used. I've seen mixed reviews of new cube controllers. So I'm not sure what to think. Someone tell me what to think Obviously wavebird's are out of production. (I'd get an adapter for a new controller)

@Woomy_NNYes Can you tell I want this bad lol. I've played every Gran Turismo with the exception of the PS4 version. I just want something on a Nintendo platform that can at least come somewhat close. I played Grid on the PS3 and quite enjoyed it.

Just the sounds of the cars on the bus above have me goosebumps. They did this port right so it seems.

@Woomy_NNYes I'm going to start with the pro controller but this game will strongly make me think on a GameCube one for sure.

I can't wait for the 19th. This has been my most anticipated game since the announcement last Nov. Gonna play this online like crazy once the multiplayer gets released, so to anyone doing the same, grab my friend code and swing me a friend request if ya like.

Any confirmation on whether or not the multiplayer update will also contain local split screen modes or only online?

Dang, the high res texture pack is a whopping 2.8 gigs. I guess that shouldn't surprise me but doesn't seem like a simple graphical upgrade.

Whoah. I wasn't expecting Grid to be available until after 3pm (after Seattle rolls out of bed and gets organized). Nice.

EDIT: Did time trials on the Indy track for a bit. I'm glad I got a gamecube controller adapter for this game.

Blimey, just dipped my toe into this, but aren't the cars sensitive little bunnies to steering input!

That's not a fault, I'm going to enjoy learning the skills to control the cars. It's looking a really solid game - fantastic visuals and sound, the AI is interesting, making it feel a real race, how you have to plan an overtake... yeah, it's matched the hype so far.

Thicko question though - am I missing a menu where you can turn the assists on or off? Cos I can't find it.

Spoony_Tech

@Mii_duck I believe you turn those off by what difficulty you choose. If there's another way I haven't looked.

@Spoony_Tech - cheers, I was thinking that was the case but wanted to check I wasn't missing anything.

In difficulty settings, I didn't want the highest difficulty, so I never scrolled all the way to the right where Customize is located.

The steering does seem to be on the sensitive side.
EDIT: steering seemed to be fine on most other cars. Open-wheel was just fine. It's like the first 1 or 2 cars I tried seemed essily unsettled by tapping the steering on long straight areas at high speed on the Indy track. So, maybe I just got used to it? Or it was an issue amplified by body-roll with the C class touring car, or the audi they drop you in at the initial game opening. I've been fine otherwise.

@Woomy_NNYes - if you press R in the controller menu I think there is a sub-menu where you can alter steering sensitivity settings. I've not fiddled with it yet though.

Currently having fun with the classic minis, but getting horrendous over and understeer, especially under braking if I don't get it right!

Very satisfying when you do string a series of corners together well though.

So what is the general consensus on best control method? I have a gamecube adapter so I'm good to go if that plays well.

@msm2000
When i started the game with the pro controller, low end cars with less grip seemed tough to manage with the digital trigger - the back end kept stepping out, starting to spin out if i wasnt ginger enough tapping the gas with the digital trigger with my initial settings. Ergonomically, my thumb doesn't like pushing up on the analog stick for throttle. I can't speak for how other people feel about analog stick throttle. So I pulled out GC controller and stayed with that. I haven't gone back and tried the pro controller now that I've mostly gotten my settings where i want them.

@Woomy_NNYes Thanks for the impressions. I've had a few races just using the pro controller and it's not as bad as I thought it'd be. I'll try the gamecube controller as well to see what I prefer, but I'm so used to my pro controller now that I may just stick with that. I agree about using the analogue stick though - I'm not a fan of that.
