Has there been any news on this? I remember hearing about this remake happening a few months ago but haven't heard any updates since, this is a game I've always wanted to play since I love JRPGS and apparently it's got once of the best combat systems.
Last reports from TGS a couple months ago suggested they're due for release before the end of the year.

According to GungHo America's twitter account there are no plans for a physical release.
But that was months ago, plans may have changed.

I'm going to Japan for Christmas and New Years, on the small chance that theres a physical release over there I'll get it (if it has English support as well).

The only problem there is that the game is being published in the North American and Europe markets only. Japan is being left out.

The only info I've ever seen about the Grandia Switch collection since the first announcement is that it was playable at PAX West last year and apparently looked awful. However, this is only coming from an offhand remark in a single Gamexplain podcast, and I can't find any other impressions or footage online, so there's really no concrete information on the game's overall quality just yet.
Hopefully we get some actual footage soon! I really want another classic JRPG for my Switch, and I've always been interested in the Grandia series, so fingers crossed that the collection turns out well.

Wait, WHAT!? That seems odd.

I haven't a clue as to why. It's just something I read being reported while I was looking for info on the game.
"Oddly enough GungHo also confirmed to the publication that both Grandia HD Remaster games will be exclusive to North America and Europe and will not be available in Japan. No reason was given for this move."

Amazing! Thank you for sharing this. Certainly alleviates previously percieved paranoia-induced ideas of it being in dev. Hell. So this makes me very happy.
How about we stop complaining and start supporting. Grandia love is real.
