Topic: GameCube controller adapter questions

I recently got a switch and want to pickup the GameCube controller adapter. I’d prefer Nintendo first party, but see the switch version is out of stock. Nintendo of Europe and Japan say its coming soon back, Nintendo of America makes no comment. I’ve found a decent deal on Wii U used version of adapter, but want to know if it is in any way different than switch. From what I can tell they are identical except logo molded in plastic. Is this true? Are the cords even the same length? Wondering it switch version have longer usb....

@treyoshi just going to mention I got the Mayflash gamecube controller adapter, and I'm happy with it.

Most of those adapter for older NIN hardware controllers are 3rd party and you should contact them about those devices to make sure your getting the right information to do what your doing. And if your talking about the Pro controller Switch those aren't out of stock that I seen over my side so did you contact the Stores there about that first.

@treyoshi I looked it up, the Wii U GC adapter should work on the Switch. The one I have has the Nintendo logo on it instead of the Wii U logo, but I tried it on both Wii U and Switch and it worked perfectly on both consoles. In the case of the Wii U, only Smash 4 works; but on Switch, the adapter works with every game that's compatible with the Switch Pro Controller. I'd say pick it up, especially if you have some GameCube controllers laying around.

@treyoshi I literally just still use the same one I bought back during the Wii U era. They've tricked me twice now, making me think GameCube games were coming in some form.

Still, you can use it just fine. It's great for Smash and decent for Mario Kart. But that's about it - in my opinion. Unless of course, they actually do eventually give us GC games.
