@Snatcher Yeah, there are limitations but, it's still a lot to work with.

Are people using this software with the mouse support or just the controller? Does the controller suffice?

I've been using the controller, though I can see how the mouse will help a lot.

@Snatcher There is, but it's very visual, and maths are involved.

It's just that you're programming with Nodon, which are little icons that you join with each other. But there are maths involved between nodon.

@Joeynator3000 Hey there, I worked on this for you. It's a box that slides across the floor with the screen following it, slightly raised so that you don't get too much ground in the point of view. When the box touches a touch sensor further to the right, it stops, but I created a little break command as without it it doesn't come to a full stop, it slides a little. But with this, you can set up an auto-scroll that has a sudden stop.

@Snatcher If you've ever used scratch before, there are a handful of similarities, though where Scratch is a (fairly) full programming language. Game Builder Garage does have a few limitations, and the quirk that I've found is that you have to do maths in a slightly different way to most languages.

Still, it's a fun tool to mess with, and so far I've made an infinite shmup.

Never heard of Scratch, though this is does making me want to give Game Maker a look at, since they have similar option with the nodes.

@Joeynator3000 Scratch is a really simple programming language that they use in schools to teach grade school kids basic programming.

The main difference between GBG and Scratch is that GBG has a Z axis, and Scratch uses standard in-fix maths rather than post-fix like GBG (and really early versions of Python.)

This game really surprises me with designing and programming your own games with different genres of gaming. When I bought it for only $30 or under, it has some great qualities and replay value that I have to understand.

I'm interested in this but I am wondering:
Do I need NSO to download levels from other players?

@chipia I don't actually know. Nintendo will mention it on their download page if it does.

@chipia I looked it up, and it appears that you do need NSO to share and download games.

You know what? I'm done...no matter what I do, I run into roadblocks, and I can never figure anything out, there's no tutorials out there, I can never find any help. I give up...on to other games, I'll look into it again if any advanced tutorials show up or if Nintendo releases new lessons/updates for this, which is unlikely.

@SepticLemon Hey I have to ask, are you used to coding, and is this game good for somebody that as never done one ping of code.

@Snatcher Yeah, it's very much made for kids and those who have never programmed before.

My gripe was that as someone who has some experience with programming, I wanted to go straight into Free Programing, but you have to complete the first project and quiz before you can start working freely. So I was trying to Fasttrack/Speed Run the first project! lol!
