@Kermit1 same actually, only one. I don’t just block people who I disagree with, that would be silly, in my opinion, I only do it to people who personally attack me and for no real reason? Luckily, that was just one person, says a lot about this community if I do say so myself!

@Snatcher I just ignored the fella because he kept spoiling games I wanted to play. I'll un-ignore him after I beat Xenoblade 3.

@Kermit1 Vary valid, I never got spoiled by games on here myself because they always get taken down so fast, sorry that happened.where they trying to go out of there way to spoil things for you or they just wasn’t thinking?

I only ignored who I did because we got in a debate about something in mh, then it turned into him insulting peoples religions for no good reason, I wasn’t the only one who blocked them that day, maybe one day I will, but from what it sounded like it wasn’t there first time doing that.

I hope it’s okay for me to revive this thread! The Game Builder Garage community has had a bit of a resurgence this month, coinciding with the game’s 4th anniversary and its Switch 2 update.

We now have a new online platform for sharing games in the form of gbgShop. Unlike the now shut down myGarage.games, the developers of this website are working closely with the community to deliver constant updates and QoL improvements. You can check it out here:

Aside from that, the Game Builder Garage Direct aired today! It was organized by gbgShop and the youtuber VideoDojo, who also held weekly game showcase streams this month. We got a bunch of exciting game reveals from both the western and Japanese communities!

Of course, the game has also been updated for the Switch 2 to include Mouse-Mode support and improved performance. But even that pales in comparison to what the community has achieved in the years since launch. We got tools to transfer any image from a computer into a Texture Nodon on the Switch, and even games with unmakeable objects, created by modders and made available for anyone to copy and use.

There’s never been a better time to get back on GBG, or to try the game for the first time! The community has turned it out this month with such amazing creations, and there are sure to be many more coming in the future.

That's really cool to see there's still an active community, I'll need to buy this game some day and see what people have done with it.

I wish Nintendo had supported this game more. I was shocked they remembered it existed enough to add mouse support.

@FishyS They’re so uninvolved with it that sometimes I even forget it’s a Nintendo game lol. Thankfully the community has stepped in for Nintendo to keep the game alive.

I sometimes wonder if Nintendo meant this more as a test of ideas for other games (will people buy an educational game? Would a 3D Mario Maker work?) rather than caring about the game itself. Although I hope I'm wrong and they make a more major sequel.

@FishyS Nice! I’m glad you enjoyed it! And yes, I do agree GBG seems like it was Nintendo’s way of dipping their toes into more involved User Generated Content, and we can see this being reflected on NSO playtest thingy they had a while back.

Despite how little post launch support it received, GBG actually sold decently well, passing the 1 million mark. So who knows if Nintendo wouldn’t be willing to try this again (with proper game browsing this time, please?)

@Hoshiko Yeah! It's incredible what the GBG community has done over all these years! Since 2021 there has been so much done and it's so nice to see people appreciate that!
