I have this very faint hope they do some sort of collection as they try and turn this into a bigger franchise. I'm one of the many that only got into FE with Awakening, and now Path of Radiance is prohibitively expensive. Will take a Switch HD port or VC rom dump, just want to play it!
and we should most definitely get online play which means we can all play with each other!
Except online is now only for those who can/ are willing to pay. So I don't expect “all“ of us can play together.
I'd prefer not to, and I actually didn't play many games online on Wii U or 3DS (Monster Hunter on 3DS, mostly). That isn't to say I won't, but revealing an online service with features that were copied (and then swiftly downgraded) from the competition and then having huge gaps in the specific details.... they aren't exactly inspiring my confidence. Or anyone elses.
The more games available online, the more value the subscription has. Splatoon alone is worth it since I'm approaching 500 hours on the Wii U one

So, it's also coming to the New 3DS...which is neat. I'm not making the same mistake I did with Hyrule Warriors, though. I'll wait until I can get my hands on the Switch version.
Didn't the Hyrule Warriors game run really badly on the 3DS compared to the Wii U counterpart? Also how well did that version sell? I would have thought Nintendo would be trying to push the Switch as much as they possibly can, so porting to another portable device is really an odd choice to me.

@FragRed Yeah it did, especially on the old 3DS. The Wii U version outsold the 3DS version 3:1 according to VGChartz. I imagine that Koei Tecmo just wanted a bigger install base to sell the game to. Fire Emblem is popular on the 3DS and there are a lot of 3DS units out in the wild, and it's difficult to tell how well the Switch will perform. It makes sense from a business perspective.
If you only have classic 3DS to buy this game, please don't buy this game. For your sake. srsly
That being said, Nintendo REALLY wants me to buy the Switch this year. I think the only thing missing from a first party perspective is a Rhythm Heaven game or Kirby Air Ride 2, and I'd be convinced they were doing this for ME specifically.

Honestly, I was saying something similar when I was looking at the reveal stuff. They're doing a much better job of listening to their fanbase, at least!
...except replace Kirby Air Ride with F-Zero. And I'm nowhere near as big a fan of Rhythm Heaven as you are, so swap that with a proper Chibi-Robo entry, and I would probably trip over myself trying to a reserve a Switch.
Well it's a shame that we didn't see much more footage... makes me wonder why they didn't just throw that in with the reveal in the Switch presentation in the first place. Even still, I'm pretty excited but I'll have to see how it performs on n3DS before I consider that version (if I don't buy I Switch by Fall).
@Meowpheel did you play both of them? I put 500 hrs into the wiiu version and about 30 into the n3ds version. It most certainly didn't run better on the new 3ds.
