Topic: Earthboun Remaster Concept

This would be an HD Remaster of the series including Earthbound and Earthbound Beginnings. And maybe, maybe, Nintendo will give a worldwide release of Mother 3 under the name of like, Earthbound: The Lost Chapter?

Not sure how you’d remaster an NES or SNES game... but a collection would be neat.

Thinking about it, are you thinking more along the lines of a remake than a remaster? Oh man, what if Earthbound were redone in a clay style like the strategy guide art?

@JackEatsSparrows Haha that’s great. Honestly don’t know what happened to SwitchForce’s sense of logic.

I was kinda hoping the same thing, like, EarthBound Trilogy or something. All 3 games in one and completely redone in 3D. Basically a full-on remake of all 3 games. It'll never happen, though...

I dunno what happened with them, Earthbound shows up on the Wii U, and then the big shocker that Earthbound Beginnings was given to us. At that point we were certain Earthbound 2 will be showing up VERY soon....nope...silence.

I mean have Nintendo ever given even a hint of a reason why Mother 3 has never made an appearance?? I always figured that in these last few years they have been saving it for the right moment but the number of seemingly right moments have passed so many times it seems Nintendo are actively do everything they can to not bring it across.

Because Nintendo doesn't think it would be a profitable usage of their money and time to localize Mother 3.
Or else they would have.
It's pretty obvious but they're never going to say that.

Unlike the first two which they had already localized.

it might be a licensing issue. Quite frequently that is the case why games don't show up.

I would settle for eshop releases of the trilogy, but I'd love to see a 3D remaster that looked something like DQ VIII. I have mostly given up on getting an official release of Mother 3 and bought a translated GBA cartridge. Such a fantastic game. I'd love to have it on Switch, but I'm not holding my breath. I just hope we see Nintendo do something with this amazing IP.

@Therad Earthbound Beginnings and Earthbound might have that issue, but Mother 3 was made by Nintendo owned Dev companies.

@WaterBottleLord that isn't a guarantee it won't be a problem. Every part of a game (or any media for that matter) can be owned by one or more persons/companies.
