News drop from Square Enix concerning the story/premise, characters, some screenshots of Nadiria's landscapes, some of the monsters you can find in the game, and more.
This went by with barely a murmur with everything else today, but according to Destructoid, a demo for this dropped on the eShop today. The monsters carry over to the full game with some limitations.
Currently playing: Dragon Quest I HD-2D Remake (Switch), Hades (Switch)
This game is the biggest non Nintendo release left that I'm looking forward to this year. I've wanted to try a DQM title for ages, but what are arguably the better games either were never localized in NA or are pricey secondhand. What sweetens the deal is I've played DQ IV (DS) and found Psaro to be an intriguing character.

That box art though.
This game is probably going to do the Pokemon thing better than Pokemon does, I can't feel it.
While I agree having played the previous DQ Monsters games, thats not saying much at all, in this age everyone does pokemon better than Gamefreak which is both funny and sad.
Small reminder that a demo has been available for this game for a while now, not sure how long it is but I'll probably narrate my playthrough of it or at least give a summary later on.
So I've played my copy for a couple hours. Performance wise the game is a little rough; hitches in the framerate and textures are slightly muddy. However, Dragon Quest-flavored Pocket Monster this is. Those two hours flew by while I was busy trying to "catch'em all" in the first zone.

I liked the enhanced graphics, but they could had at least burrowed the battle system from Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker Series. I played Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 for GBC, but didn’t beat it. I assumed it was Cobi’s Journey version.
