So I've been trying unsuccessfully to add my debit card details to the UK My Nintendo Store website for the past couple of days so I'm ready to purchase the Xenoblade 3 LE when it goes up, but keep receiving an error saying "There is an error verify the entered credit card information, please try again".
Nintendo UK support said they hadn't heard any other claims of the same issue, but would look into it. I asked around online and found a couple of other people that had the same issue. I was wondering if anyone here had the same problem, and if anyone in the UK would be kind enough to test if they were able to add a card to their account without receiving the error?
@Glrd Occasionally I've seen UK/EU people say their credit card is not working. The workaround was using paypal for eshop for some scenarios. I think you set up paypal for eshop via your nintendo account on nintendo's website.
There was a Nintendo security update back in spring 2019-ish? (to counter new threats), which has since ended up preventing some credit cards from working on eshop. And, it also may come down to using a card from one country and using it in eshop of different region. I'm just thinking out loud here, citing what I've seen in the forum, in case these things are relevant or help explain similar issues.
@WoomyNNYes That was my first thought too but the My Nintendo Store doesn't accept Paypal for pre-orders, only items that are currently available. I also tried ordering something with google pay and got a similar error, so I've basically resigned myself to the fact I'm probably going to have to pay more than the retail price to some scummy scalper on Ebay if I want the LE. Thanks for the suggestion anyway, I appreciate it!

Well, I successfully updated my card last month, @Glrd .... Sorry to hear about your problems, though, I'm afraid I have no idea what might cause those

I had a quick look online about this as its something that I wouldn't want to happen to me!
Some Reddit posts from a while back seemed to have a similar problem that resolved randomly without and additional action - entering the card details another time just worked.
I guess the card works otherwise - would your bank be able to advise?
There was that recent change in rules for using cards online to combat fraud. I'm assuming Nintendo are up on that?
You can't pay with a voucher or gift card can you? I couldn't see anything like that in the faq or payment area.
@BruceCM Hopefully they sort the issue before the Xeno LE preorders go live. I've even tried using a relative's card, and their with a different bank so it's definitely not an issue with my card. I'll try giving their support number a call tomorrow and see if they can help, though I doubt I'll get anywhere given how dismissive live chat support have been the few times I've contacted them. When you're running a store, you'd think a customer not being able to give you any money would be a number one priority. Thanks anyway, hopefully I can get the issue resolved soon! If not... guess I'm spending a crapton on Ebay lol.

Hopefully you'll get 1 who has a better idea, @Glrd .... If it is related to some security updates, though, that's not likely to be something they can directly resolve
It'd only be if enough people reported such problems that it'd get passed on to the tech team responsible for such things, sadly
@Rambler Yeah the card works fine on other sites (I've ordered stuff online since then) and I've tried my card on the site multiple times with no luck. I called my bank, they said there was no issue on their end and they couldn't even see any attempts to verify the card so the issue is definitely on Nintendo UK's end.
For preorders you can only pay by card or Google Pay, and I tried preordering Fire Emblem Three Hopes to check with my card normally and using Google Pay, and both wouldn't go through. Just crossing my fingers and hoping it resolves itself as you said, but I'm not expecting much.

Did anyone on here contact their Bank or CC and ask them. I seen where if it fails you do get a email notification from your Bank or CC requesting that you confirm the order and if you don't they decline the transaction.
I did but the they said they did not receive or block any order attempts on their end.
That's a lie...I had that happen before and kept asking and they finally admitted they did block the transaction and processed and complete it. If your CC# is right and the 3 digit code then it's the Bank or CC doing the blocking whom else would have the Final say in the purchase.
@DarkEXE Any luck with support for My Nintendo Store UK? They appear to have a chat messenger & email. Disregard, if you tried that. I didn't see it mentioned above.
Yes, been arguing with the site for ages about this and all they say it contact your bank.
They are useless.
I can use all my cards completely fine on the actual Nintendo site for DLC, and 3DS downloads, but try anything on the Store website and it hates all my cards.
It's been this way for me for over 6 months.
They told me to use a guest log in, that didnt work.
Especially as I really want an official N64 controller, and you need an account with online for you to order it, so they are completely useless.
I might start up a new email complaint to them (i do it every three months or so) to try and get somewhere, I doubt it will work and I will get bored after 2 weeks of complaining at them and them not giving a crap
@Bunkerneath Have you done all the usual stuff when websites don't work - cleared cookies, tried different browser, different device, disabled browser extensions etc? I've have an issue recently where I can't log into my Nintendo Account from my home PC using Chrome as it says it can't connect to the Captcha servers and to check my connection. Works fine using other Browsers and using Chrome on any other device I've tried, including my work PC.
