@Snatcher I believe he confirmed that the game was being worked on for about a decade, and that it was something he came up with while either in the early stages of Undertale, or before Undertale even began production. He has a bunch of Deltarune dev stuff on his twitter, but you have to dig a bit.

@VoidofLight Man, So this is the true game, I'm not really surprised, I mean look at Delta compared to Undertale.

@Snatcher It just makes so much sense, and I really can’t wait to see how the rest of this game pans out.

@VoidofLight Sans hinted at 2 years, but I think its going to be about 3 or 5.

@Snatcher I think 2 is likely, given that chapter 2 was too long because Toby got a pretty bad hand injury, and they switched engines or coding languages, then back over again, learning tips to make future chapter development go by faster and smoother. Toby already has the scripts written too I’m pretty sure.

@VoidofLight I hope so, Bc Idk how long I can wait, I need to pay him my money!

Breaking news!! Chapter 3-5 are (probably) not coming out this year. They are still working on chapter 3. (News obtained from the Toby fox newsletter).
On a lighter note there are now toriel slippers on the fangamer website to celebrate undertales 8th anniversary.

@WaffleBoat Yeah. Toby said last year not to expect the full launch of the game to happen in 2023. We’ll probably see 3-5 release in 2025-2026.

DELTARUNE is amazing and no one on this site is talking about it! If you’ve played the new chapters, what did you think of them? I personally loved both (even if 4 was a good deal better than 3)
