So l have some experience in gaming but nothing like Cuphead I guess.
Like 20 years experience but Im an average gamer skillwise.

Geoing through Tropical Freeze rn collecting all the letters, in world 4 right know (middle) love , the game. here dying dont frustrate me cause game is so fair (and so amazing all the around of course).
But probably I die a lot lol.

On the other hand SEKIRO was difficulty-sealed for me, like I was helpless. I payed a lot of money for digital (no refund) gave so many tries (i LOVED it actually) couldnt beat the first/second boss and I knew I will never be so stopped playing, feeling very sad, naturally Im a bit worried of Cuphead. I finished DS 3 but no ER btw.

So should I get it or humbly pass on it? Was thinking this or Celeste but this seems cooler.
Any help? Im a 30 + if it means anything (still good at tekken 7/8 though when comes to reflexes)

Thank you

@yoshi420 I've not beaten Cuphead yet (just haven't played it much) so I don't know how hard it might get, but at heart it's pretty straightforward in its movement and shooting mechanics, so I think you should give it a shot (pun intended because I'm a comedy genius) and see how far you get. Buy physical and sell on if it disappoints you.

You guys had me at blood and semen.

What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?

Nothing is true. Everything is permitted.

I love Cuphead, it's a beautiful game, but it is indeed tough as nails. I made it to the second last boss (King Dice), but gave up at that point. I really wish the developers included an easy mode, so I could just appreciate the incredible artwork and animation. If you've played games like Contra or Metal Slug you might have an idea of what you're getting into, but even still it's no cake walk.

@yoshi420 Hi friend, surprising to hear you finished Dark Souls 3 but not Elden Ring... I would have definitely considered DS3 as a tougher ordeal!

OK, so Sekiro is in my top5 of all time and I also love Cuphead. I struggled through both of these game, some bosses taken 100+ attempts (!), but I adore difficult games and challenge.

Based on your tastes, I would recommend avoiding Cuphead.

Have you tried Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order? It plays like a Soulslike, but has difficulty settings and is a much calmer experience. Its an awesome game, and I am not even a huge star wars fan.

You mention Celeste, this is a really really cool game. Tricky in parts, but nothing like Cuphead

@CJD87 thx. fo clarify- not looking for anything soulslike (got bored ot these). More looking for some 2d platofrormer or silimiar fresh yet challenging (not Sekiro challenging) game.

If I could keep on reapiting bosses in Cuphead asap after loosing (unlike sekiro) that would make it managably a lot more imo. Mind you I love Donkey Kong games too

edit: so quick quiestion is it possible Im quite good at donkey games and wont manage Cuphead if I will dedicate to it? DS3 wast hard for me alright but elden ring bosses broke me I never touched any souls game ever again lol

Game is basically a boss simulator, it is hard, but I wouldn't say THAAAAT hard...some bosses did drive me insane. You'll still die, constantly, though...but yeah you can instantly repeat them after dying.

There is a Simple mode for each boss, but you can't progress through the game until you beat them via Normal. But it's at least a way for you to practice with the boss before fighting them in Normal mode.

For Cuphead, I found that when I decided to focus solely on it (and not playing other games), I improved a ton. I’m not great at the run n gun genre, and was eventually able to 100% it (before the DLC). I really enjoyed it, but it’s definitely not for everyone. If you’re looking to focus on a challenge, it’s a great game. One day I’ll eventually get around to trying the dlc.

Just got boxed copy + dlc. Giving up on metroid Prime and Dread (uh no fun at all 2 me) so I can play this and DK exclusively (and some MarioKart) Main focus Cuphead ofc. I want so check something new out and it seems appealing a lot more than 99% AAA+ titles nowadays.

I dont mint difficulty curve only hard game I gave up on was Sekiro (not a huge fan of soulslikes too). But I play Donkey Kongs, dont mind if an addictive hard game is fair w/o 2much backtracking

It's a fun game. I would've gone for Celeste, personally - a more "complete" platformer, if that makes any sense. Cuphead is just boss fights and a few side scrollers that are more shooting than platforming.

But Cuphead is an awesome game. I didn't have too many problems with it overall.
