So my question is, how would one charge the Joycons and the Switch console itself?

I think when you're charging the console with the Joycons attached, some of the power goes to the joycons too. I could be wrong

Thank you for the reply! That seems logical, but as you said, it is just speculative. I do hope that is the case though.

You could also buy a charging grip which charges the JoyCons while playing, since the grip that comes with the system doesn't charge them for some reason, but it's not required at all. The JoyCons supposedly have a 20 hour battery life, after all. Just pop them on the system itself and stick it in the dock when you're done playing, and both the JoyCons and the Switch will charge at the same time. I'm assuming they also charge when you charge the Switch on the go, as long as they're attached to the tablet. Could be wrong, though.
