@WenJing I heard the tencent switch cant play foreign cartridges at all. i dont really know. if you bought it recently on taobao, try returning it and getting the real switch. you can return return without giving reasons if you bought it on the last 7 days. you can also contact the seller and explain that you bought the wrong model and try to return anyway. taobao has tons of japanese switches. very easy to get it. explain to your dad that keeping the chinese version is the same as keeping a machine without games at all, which is just a waste of money.
