@BlackRoseProject nice of you to give away so many codes! I wish there were more for Technosphere, that looks more my speed than Planar Conquest, like a futuristic Kula World.

Planar Conquest was cool looking but I think it needs a bit more time to be sunk in it. I gave it a quick go and it seemed dauntingly complex.

See ya!

@BlackRoseProject Hi, thanks for uploading the codes, but these are codes for Technosphere, for which I've already successfully managed to get a code. I missed the second game you put up for free, not Technosphere. But thanks for putting up extra codes anyway.

By the way: code #26 is already used by someone, but unfortunately, that person wasn't polite enough to mention that he or she has used it.

@ralphdibny These codes actually ARE for Technosphere, so grab one while you can.

EU Codes for Technosphere that still work:

28: C07VDXLDPHJ228X5
29: C07VDXLW6GDFCQ47

Unfortunately it's not Planar Conquest.

A friend of mine claimed 30 since he missed it the first time around. I'm adding his thoughts about it later.

Well that's a funny situation. By mistake I've put codes for Technosphere instead of Planar Conquest.

Oopsie!

I finally managed to give Planar Conquest a spin yesterday evening for a little while. There's a LOT of depth to the game; the tutorial was helpful in explaining quite a bit of the basics but only scratched the surface in some cases.

I'm currently in the middle of a Quick Game that auto-generates much of the details for the player. You can customize your playing field, what sort of race you lead, and your hero as well according to some footage I've found of the Steam version.

I've also found the game is better played on a larger screen; the text is a bit small at times on the Switch itself.

OK, Planar Conquest would be right up my alley, being a Civilization-like strategy game that is not as deep and easier to get into, but I came across a couple of issues in the 3 hours I spent with it.

First, if you skip the Tutorial there aren't any indicators on many of the controls. We just had to play the replay the tutorial to learn that you have to hold down the right analog stick for a couple of seconds to advance to the next round. It wouldn't hurt if there was an in-game option for this somewhere in the many menus.

Second, and more problematic, are battles that don't start. I need to put my units on the board in battle mode, because an enemy ship is attacking my explorer ship, and I have only one unit on it, and the battle just won't start. I can't flee, I can't fight, I can't do anything. Feels softlocked. This happened 2 times already, so I had to close and reboot the game. Maybe I miss something but I tried everything possible. Oh, we also hit a bug in the tutorial and couldn't progress through it, so we just quit the tutorial and loaded our save file.

If it wasn't for these issues, the game would be really enjoyable.

@SKTTR After leaving the game for a couple of days, holding down the R stick to advance turns did trip me up a bit at first. I have a better handle on things now that I've played the game a little more, but the pacing is starting to get to me a bit. I haven't played a game quite like it since Civilization III back in the day.

The tutorial was helpful and worked for me without any issues, though I feel like it only scratched the surface on a few things.

@BlackRoseProject I've spent a few hours with Planar Conquest, and here are my brief impressions. @SKTTR has also left some feedback above. From my understanding, this game is meant as a spiritual successor to Master of Magic, an old 4X PC strategy game. I don't have a lot of experience with this type of strategy game outside of a little Civilization III experience, so perhaps some will leave more informed feedback.

My thoughts so far:

  • I like a lot of the backstories of the premade sorceror lords as well as the descriptions for the different races.
  • I like that there is a Quick Game option as well as a full game where you can choose/customize your chosen race, playing field (Planes), and sorcerer lord if you wish.
  • The tutorial is serviceable, but I feel that it only scratches the surface of the game's mechanics and could explain some actions better.
  • The text in the game (noticed mostly during the tutorial segment) is pretty small at times. It's not the most ideal game for handheld mode on the Switch and is much better suited to a larger screen.
  • There's quite a bit of depth and micromanagement to this game. I enjoy aspects of it, but I also find it a bit much at times. Again, I think a more robust tutorial for players new to the genre would have been good here.
  • The game's pacing in general is pretty slow. This isn't a negative per se, but I thought I'd list this out there for those who prefer a faster-paced game.
  • Some of the controls and button presses aren't the most intuitive, but can be adapted to. One example is I need to manually deselect and then re-select the next character on the map when moving units, even if the previous unit could no longer move.
  • The AI in this game is very difficult to thwart, even on lower settings. I haven't participated in a lot of battles just yet, but I learned pretty quickly that auto-battle isn't the most optimal.
  • As of this writing, I haven't experienced any bugs, crashes, or graphical issues.
