Highly recommend Baba Is You to anyone who likes inventive puzzle games - had great fun with it although the challenge level ramps up big time when you get to later levels. It’s rare to get such a genuinely original puzzle game experience.

Number 2 best selling game on the eshop for the month of March (after Final fantasy VII) so I’m sure a lot of you have tried it!

I have been reading this website since I bought a switch in 2017 and the lack of any coverage for this game here was the first time I have been disappointed as a reader - so much so that it inspired me to create an account to point it out! I’m not the creator of the game in case you’re wondering but I am curious if the creator of this game did something to the NL writers’ grandmas considering the coverage it has had elsewhere (eg the last 2 IGN Nintendo podcasts have included lengthy discussions of this game)

@BongoBongo I've just had a quick check and it seems Amazon don't sell download codes for this game, and it's not available physically. If that ever changes then don't be surprised if it starts getting a lot more coverage here. But until it can be affiliate linked it's not worth writing about.

You guys had me at blood and semen.

What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?

@gcunit ok thanks for pointing that out - I actually don’t mind if it’s a pure business decision as someone needs to keep the lights on round here. Don’t ncesssarily agree however that ignoring popular games is good business sense for a platform like this but as I say, no problems with them making decisions based off what they consider appropriate from that point of view.

really poor show from NL how long would it take them to write a review or speak to the developer really? seem to spend plenty of time reporting on conjecture or having their video guy talk nonsense, you really would think they would at least have 5 minutes to give a top quality indie game some coverage! absolute disgrace really the more i think about it. how can they totally ignore one of the top selling games of the past month?

I can write a review for them if they want:

oh my, I think you're right.
I don't mind them putting affiliate links all around, really, but I'm so disappointed by NL lately...
I used to come here for the reviews first and foremost, in fact they started this way, reviewing EVERY Wiiware game. I understand that the eShop is too much crowded nowadays to do it, but still, missing games like this is a shame.

Late

I played the game for few hours, then it got hard and I soon stopped playing. It's not like I can't advance but I don't find the later levels to be as fun. I don't get the good feeling from finding the solution, instead I'm just happy it's over and I can move to the next one.

I'm usually very good at puzzle games but this one asks a lot from you. Since nothing is constant, you have to keep track of multiple things at all times. What can I move? What and where is the goal? Can I walk through these tiles? Of course, you can just remind yourself by reading the properties again but I still find myself in situations where I do a complex thing and then I notice I forgot about one thing and the I have to rewind or start over. This is not a game you can play while listening to music or podcasts, you need full focus on puzzle solving.

It's its, not it's.

I just bought the game after highly enjoying the free game jam version...though I do have a walkthrough bookmarked in case things start proving to be too much, as I've heard the finished product is definitely harder. An in-game hint system would've been a lovely addition, but I really could just use the walkthrough lightly to experience the game in as much of its full glory as possible. Here's hoping it lives up to the acclaim (and the old version)!
