@Zyrac Yep Master Mummy appeals to me a lot.I've never been very good at fighting games but with the big guys or monsters,I always feel like I've got a chance. With SF2 it was Blanka,Fighting Vipers was Sanman,Soul Calibur was Asteroth and with Smash,it's Bowser who I feel most confident with.Their power means you're always in fight even when you're getting hammered,a couple of big hits and you're right in back in it.
Some people are unhappy because they feel like, in the quest to keep control parity between single and double joycon button controls, they've made it harder to play.
I expected proper controls for the Pro Controller / double Joy-Cons. It feels stupid to not use the other buttons when they're available. I can't really fault a game for not having custom controls, because let's be honest, how many games have them? But not fully utilising the Pro Controller is stupid. Going to make me think twice about getting this game in that case.
There better be a demo on the eShop when I get my Switch, because I know that motion controls are a love 'em or hate 'em type of deal personally.
@OorWullie I'm a creature of habit too if you couldn't tell by my Splatoon loadout lol. I get what I like and stick with it. Same way with Monster Hunter. I've always liked great swords and have used others but always main GS. To your point I think I will also try as many different characters in this as well. Not sure I'll learn them all but I'm going to go in having fun instead of trying to always win.

@Octane I imagine, like Splatoon, it'll both give Nintendo valuable information on the game's online performance AND serve the purposes of a demo.
I plan on trying out as many control configurations as I can over the various testpunch sessions, assuming it's smooth and rolled out well. I've always had some issues with the Splatoon testfires.
It's quite possible that the button controls are intentionally limited to discourage their use. Certainly Nintendo wouldn't want to wind up with them having an advantage over motion controls. Now that would be lame.
@Ralizah I understand, but I don't have a Switch yet. The regular controls sound a bit gimped if you ask me, so I'd like to try it out first before buying the game, same for the motion controls. Maybe I don't like either option. That's why I want to see a regular demo in the eShop [after launch].
The testfire model is brilliant. Brings the community together, serves as free advertising for the game as well as a limited demo, and lets Nintendo know if there are any issues with the games online capabilities.
I would like to see a basic demo that lets you test out the controls get released afterward, though, for people like Octane.
Can't see this game being nearly as taxing on servers as Splatoon would be with all that ink everywhere so I doubt there will be too many online problems. Let's just hope Nintendo doesn't think the same thing and use less servers.

@DarthNocturnal The shorter the sessions, the more people will be playing at once. That's important if stress testing is one of the goals, and it ensures an ample population. It also keeps the hype going better. Feed people too much for free, and they won't be as hungry when you start charging.
I think it's important to have a regular demo for this game as well. With a new ip and plenty of people iffy on it, it will go a long ways to help make that decision to purchase or not. Fire Emblem Awakening demo helped to put that game on the map going forward. A good demo adds to and doesn't take away.

So is there any way to tilt punches on the pro controller / grip? It's weird to me that guard is still on the left stick even when you're using multiple Joy-Con yourself. It should be on L to mirror the rush button. Also the 2v2 change target button on the thumbs-up grip sucks, it should be on ZL.
They clearly don't want it because of how bad people could screw up the motion controls scheme, but remappable buttons would make this game better. That's, like, the only hint Nintendo needs to take from PC gaming. Ever. In any timeline.
