@Lethal I didn’t say you. I don’t care how you acquire your games, because it doesn’t affect me at all. Maybe dial back the aggro. Or don’t, doesn’t matter really.
But yeah, this doesn’t look too dissimilar from when the preview launched on X1, and there were loads of patches and work done. I played it since the preview on X1, so I know. It’s a rough game in general. Still more stable than Fallout 76, though

No offense but what sort of graphical presentation were you looking for? The video you showed looks nice. Or have you played this game previously on another console or PC and have just been spoiled on it instead? Not every game is going to be Zelda, Doom or the like as far as graphics go on the switch (even with those games you'd probably have gripes about how it looks). Really now what in that video was as you put it trash?
You do realize this is more than just about the graphics right? Did you purposely forget the part where the frame rate drops to a 3? And did you also forget the part where the pop-ins happen with every step you take?
Why do Switch fanboys feel like there are no bad games on the Switch? This is probably the absolute worst game on this console and yet members here defend it and pretend it is not that bad lol.
Please, by all means spend your money and support trash like this.
Graphically it isn't the worst thing I've ever seen. Frame rate wise, it's pretty awful. Very laggy and the frame rates constantly dip to unplayable levels. With that being said, this is more about the development of the game and less about what the Switch is capable of. This came runs pretty horrid on all consoles. Hopefully they'll iron some things out, but we will see. I still think WWE was more of a disaster.
@Lethal
I don't play ARK Survivals, but judging from that video, i can say the trees textures was Disaster and framerate drops was very Unacceptable.
That game shouldn't be released until it has Decent 3D rendering, fixed 30 fps.
Btw, how many GB for ARK Survivals on Nintendo Switch ?
@Lethal don't get me wrong there are bad games on Switch I just feel I can deal with the issues here because the concept appeals to me enough. I'm not saying there aren't issues just that they don't bother me.
@Lethal
I've played far worse. Of all the reviews I've heard it's a bit of a mixed bag on ALL consoles even on PC. If you let occasional drops on frame rate and all the other gripes (it's not a constant thing) stop you from enjoying a game you are interested be it the setting or story then you are just looking for any excuse to complain. Nights of Azure 2 is one of my favorite switch games but it suffers from slowdown in handheld but I played through it in handheld and enjoyed it flaws and all.
Wow, just wow...they are charging $79.95 for this mess.
Are they insane??
Devs gonna have to do alot of work to make me even think about buying this.
What a shame!!
Haha yep, $80. And you look at something like Warframe...which is free. Nah.
And this has freakin dinosaurs in it, I want to play this game on my Switch, but as it stands now its a hard pass.

lol ya ok. I have the game and I know for a fact that it is garbage. I am not looking for anything because I found it. Occasional drops? The drops are constant. You think I have a vendetta against ARK and I am looking for a reason to hate the game? I said I own this title on both the PS4 and Xbox. The game runs iffy on both those consoles even after the numerous updates. I am speaking from actual experience with this game where you are trying to make excuses as to why it is not a bad game even though you have not played it........ You are looking for excuses to make it worth buying.
Look, I made this thread to help prevent some people from spending $50 on this crap. Please ignore everything I have said about this game and please waste your money. I do not care what you do with your money.
@Lethal
That's exactly my point! It runs iffy on 2 other consoles that are way more powerful than the switch and even top end gaming PCs have hiccups and performance issues so all things considered this port isn't all that bad by comparison. What were you expecting? For this port to outshine all of its other releases and make ps4 and xbone look like a joke?

So you think this port is not that bad because the game already runs like crap to begin with? And you think this $50 price tag is acceptable because 10fps average on the Switch is close enough to the 20fps average on other consoles?
And you seem to think this is purposely this way so they do not make the other home consoles look like a joke? As if the Switch has some hidden features that could make the PS4 and XB1 look like a joke?
Or should we sit back and say this game should never be released on the Switch when it hardly runs on more powerful systems?
@Lethal
I said the game looks better than what you describe, even your videos that you linked to didn't run that bad. For what it is though with all the problems on the other consoles this is not as bad as it could have been. The game released quite a while ago, for the dev not to even have it fixed on more powerful hardware is a testament to thier laziness, no matter which you get it's going to have some kinda compromise. With that said though the game is obviously selling well enough for them to justify a port to switch that's both physical and digital. I never said it was a great game, but for what it is you can manage, it's by no means unplayable. If you want a travesty of a game look at wwe on switch, so bad they skipped over the switch entirely for the new game.
You misunderstood my question all together. I asked did you expect it to run better on the lower hardware of the switch compared to the other choices? You shouldn't expect bad porting everytime but you do have to look at each case for what it is.

I said the game should never be sold on the Switch. It's pretty much unplayable and its embarrassing that this game even passed Nintendos standards. The doesn't look better than I described. It looks so much worse when you are actually playing it.
@Lethal
I'm playing it right now. It had an update and while it may not be the most graphically jarring game it's by no means the travesty you make it out to be. I don't think we will ever see eye to eye on this. I'm a glass half full kinda person, it's not without its flaws (a manual would be nice) but the way you have been going on about it the glass is half empty and you can see no redeeming qualities in it at all. I can see it being a problem online with max 64 players at once bogging it down and going to a crawl with the insanity that could happen, but with a small group or like I'm playing in single player it's good for what it is.

Still a little rough but, it seems that day one update did actually help quite a bit. I just watched this entire video and while it does seem to be a bit rough when bringing up the menu and things like that, one thing that was notably absent was repeated severe frame drops. It actually seems to be running fairly decent. Probably on the lower end of what’s considered acceptable but, I certainly wouldn’t call the game unplayable judging by this footage posted today. Now, handheld may still be another story, Idk. I haven’t seen any post-update footage of that yet but, I may actually end up ordering this. It really comes down to the handheld footage.
