It's fine. When I bought into the Switch, I bought it as a Nintendo machine first and foremost. I thought Nintendo was just blowing smoke when it promised third parties. Now I have quite the library on it.

I'm happy with it. I have quite a few games for the Switch, a large chunk of my library being from Nintendo. There's some great Nintendo exclusives for it, like Super Mario Odyssey, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Plus I have other games like Sonic Mania to keep me company. I kinda wish it had its own Mario Kart and Donkey Kong games, but I do understand why it got some Wii U rereleases (because well, the Wii U bombed), plus I liked Mario Kart 8 enough to get that on Switch too. I love how it's both a home console and a handheld, so I can play my games while I'm out and about...provided that there's no pandemic, of course.

Of course, there's always room for more games. We know of Metroid Prime 4 and that Breath of the Wild sequel, plus Paper Mario: The Origami King's just around the corner. Wonder what else we'll get?

@BlackKnight93 I consider the Switch as having perhaps the best library of games available on any device on the market in 2020.

But that doesn't mean I want them to stop. There's always room for improvement.

I'd like to see more support of legacy titles. Especially GBA/N64/Gamecube era content. Be it on NSO or in collections of games. There's a lot of fanservice these days to fans of the 8 bit and 16 bit era of gaming. But not nearly as much for the consoles I primarily grew up with. Yes, I played NES and SNES stuff too, but I feel more affection and nostalgia for what I enjoyed in jr. high and high school than when I was a little kid.

I'm always open for more PS360 era ports as well. My big one from that era that I still want is the Mass Effect trilogy personally.

I find it amusing people would try to Troll the Switch library of Physical and Digital and still saying not enough. There's games for everyone taste or type that was what Nintendo was aiming for and seems they found a Gold Mine doing so and those trying to bring down this Library are just sore losers or Placating Trolls. 1st party Developers shunned Switch until they finally some woken up-some have from $ony/M$ bewitching to see the light at the end of the Tunnel that they found new success with the Switch.

I initially bought a Switch for the Nintendo exclusives like I think most do. However third party support has surprisingly been amazing. I see the Nintendo Switch as a greatest hits machine. Alongside all the great 1st party exclusives, the huge library of indie games and 3rd party games. 3rd party developers are even developing exclusives for the system using Nintendo IPs, Mario Rabbids, Cadence of Hyrule etc. And developers are bringing the cream of the crop of previous generations via ports, and while some complain about ports, who wouldn't want to play some of the greatest games of past generations on a handheld system whether you've previously played it before or not.

While there is the problem of shovelware, I'm old enough and ugly enough to spot the shovelware and be able to siv through it.

And guess what, no Call of Duty or an oversaturation of EA games anywhere.

@Neckcrane It's called Innovations and good timing. They always never followed the others chasing GPU or CPU power but wanted everyone to experience it.

I'm happy with the Switch's library, the only concerning thing is that now Paper Mario is out (as of tomorrow). There are no new 1st party titles on the horizon for a release this year. Scary thought.

In terms of first party original Nintendo titles no. I still feel I had more original experiences on the Wii U. But at the same time I don’t expect every generation to repeat the same successes

For me, yes. I didn't own a Wii U so I am happy with all the ports. Good 3rd party support, great 1st party titles and is just overall good

@NinChocolate Like what? The NSMB game that's a rehash of the last game? Or the 3D Mario game that's a rehash of the last game? Or the DK game that's a rehash of the last game?

Lack of original experiences is the main reason I skipped the Wii U. There were far too many Wii U games that were too much like their predecessors on the Wii or 3DS. The Switch may have a few like that, every console does, but for every bland rehash on the Switch there's a unique and creative game like BotW or Mario Odyssey or Luigi's Mansion 3

@Bolt_Strike and that’s fine that you skipped the Wii U. I really connected with its library more than any previous home console.

The list (with reasons for me): I loved Nintendoland and NSMBU+LU (Switch still doesn’t have its own sidescrolling mario bros.). I loved the 4-player 3D World (that’s 2-0 for Wii U for original main series Mario with multiplayer). I loved Windwaker (best Zelda remake). I loved Mario Kart 8 (Switch still doesn’t have its own Mario Kart). Splatoon is now my favorite online game thanks to the Wii U. Pikmin 3 was just amazing to me but no sequel on Switch. Mario Maker was crazy and New back then. DK Tropical Freeze was exceptional to me but no sequel so far on Switch. I liked Kirby Rainbow Curse more than Star Allies. I got my fix of BotW on the Wii U, which nicely capped off that library for me.

The takeaway: more of my preferences from Nintendo first party were lit up on Wii U. By a mile, cross my heart!

But again, it’s cool that for you the Switch has been a homecoming. For me, that was the Wii U and thus I have a lot of positive feelings about that system. If the Switch is now your time to feel that I’m happy to hear it
