Sometimes when a company releases a console like ps4 pro for example, they tend to release a better version for the newer batch, for example, the newer ps4 pro got better cooling that the old one that they released.
Is there anything similiar to the nintendo switch? I bought the regular grey version couple of weeks ago. Today they have the Diablo III Limited Edition and Super smash Edition, are they any better than the regular one, or are they basicly the same + paintjob added on?
Rumors only at this point or Vaporware. The other Switches have preinstalled games on them so they cost more. Otherwise they are just Switch every each one of them. Either spend 299.99 or 359.99 for preloaded. Those paint job are for collectors you can always but the game separate but if you collect Switch docs for the design the you got money to burn.
i know that the diffrence between stock and the other ones, are that you get a digital code for the game to reedem.
But what i meant was, sometimes Sony or Microsoft, adds a extra number or letter to the Model nr for their Console, which means that they´re a newer batch, and sometimes they are the same, and sometimes the newer model is better in some sort, for example, better cooling system or better fans installed.
they don´t tend to tell this because that would lead to everyone would only buy the newer ones.
I know about PS4 Pro and XBox One X, Nintendo has done this before as well (like the New 3DS and the 10 bajillion other versions that system has, lol) but hasn't with the Switch yet.
EDIT: Oh, model number, no idea then. Chances are for the Switch is that it just has the latest/near latest updates and all that.
If you're asking about minor differences between different batches (like how different models of PS2 have slight differences despite looking identical), I don't believe there are any.
Exactly what i meant , i wasn´t talking about going for Xbox one s ----> Xbox one X, more like Xbox one X ----> Xbox one X ( minor changes in the hardware like removing, 120mm fan and adding 140mm fan for example).
Thanks for the answer guys, so basicly there´s no difference between them all, only the ugly paintjob then
@Dejch29 what you look for is the rumor Switch Pro 2.0HD console when it comes out. I don't think Nintendo is going to split hairs on this one. Some will want the Pro and some will want the Standard Switch. That will be where the price difference will show up. I can see the Standard will be 299.99 and the Pro being 399.99 as price difference to the performance your buying into. I do hope the rumor Pro doesn't go above 399.99 but I highly doubt they will drop the price for the current Switch under 299.99 since the 3DS XL still exists with the 199.99 or slightly less. Having prices to close could hurt both consoles in return.
@Dejch29 The recent units fixed a few things like the Bluetooth disconnections and there are rumours that also improved the anti-hacking measures. I haven't heard anything else.
Some of the backdoor hacking whatevers have to do with the actual Tegra X1 chip itself, something in the physicals of it. They'd have to literally use a new chip. But the Switch itself has at least one revised version from last year. Was googling online looking for a list or numbers or count of how many. Be cool if one of these BIG sites looked into it for us.
As to hacking that will happen regardless of the console developments. If your a ELUA then you dont need to worry. When they make a new model than so be as of currently there's nothing seen so far beyond rumors. But they should wait at least 5 years to bring a more powerful Switch. Putting that much power into something will have a big growing pain to work the qinks out.
