@RetroGamerAndrew Thanks for the second opinion. I noticed there is an Anker brand one for £6.99 on Amazon. Is Anker a decent quality brand of adapter?

Looks like a quite decent one, I'm pretty sure I've some kind of USB adapter/cable from that company myself sitting around in my car... I'd pull the trigger

@GrailUK Congrats on the win and great choice... One of the ACA series I played in the arcades, in Skegness in the late 80's, and I sucked at it but look forward to giving it a go again☺

@hybridseed Thanks mate. I played Terra Cresta on the C64. Playing the Hamster port feels like a huge upgrade hahah:)

@Lroy I have an anker portable charger that I just recently got and have no issues, if that helps.(not the same, I know, but I'd recommend.)

@GrailUK I've played it somewhere other than in the arcades too, trying to think where.. Amiga maybe?

@Lroy I haven't found any videos really but I can post a couple later. I posted maxing the first boss with a score you can aim for at that point.

What about doing a super-special-hardcore-one-off-2-WHOLE-WEEKS-LONG contest to properly celebrate this HUGE release?
We could do it in place of the standard SHMUP contest, or we could run 'em both at the same time... what do you think?

Just set a new personal high score.It's a long way off @GrailUK but it is enough (by a ball hair) to put me into 2nd place.

It could have been so much higher too. I was on 53k and fully powered up but once the first life went ,2 more quickly followed. I then managed a respectable run on my last life with a weakened ship to reach 69k.Pretty chuffed with that but 80,500 and a top 10 place is my target.

@RetroGamerAndrew I'd be up for that. I had Ikaruga on the Dreamcast but sadly never played it much at the time. What I did play of it I found incredibly tough but I reckon I'll get on much better with it now.Running it for 2 weeks would be ideal. I found myself getting better at Danmaku Unlimited 3 on the last day but it was too late,I think if I'd continued to play it for another week my score would be much higher.

@RetroGamerAndrew For my financial spending sins, I doubt I'll be buying IKARAGU or any other eShop games Day 1 for the foreseeable future. It will pain me greatly but I just have to close the purse strings from here on in until birthday in the Autumn and Xmas comes round.

Spent so much cash on the Switch in its life-time to date. Week on week. I'm living the dream and just now need to hold-fire on any more purchases and enjoy the many games I now already own.

@RetroGamerAndrew I must confess I'm gonna hold fire on high score chasing after this week...until Ikaruga comes out lol. So ye, I'm up for an Ikaruga fest.

@OorWullie I have a score of 98K but for some reason it refuses to log it. I'm chasing 110K and I'm paranoid it will not register

@GrailUK When that's happened to me in the past I've needed to reset the score or it just won't register ,no matter how many times I beat it. What seems to trigger it for me is when I hit B instead of A to register a new score. If you're confident of passing your 97k I'd recommend resetting just to give you peace of mind your 110k will register.
