Well Tengai is now available in Europe just bought it
Maybe Punch Out won't appear till sometime during the day.
Man, Tengai is superb. It's great to have a horizontal shooter with the classic Psikyo gameplay. It's looks fantastic too. It allows you to change the display to wide which fills the whole screen without making it look stretched. Can't get enough of the Psikyo games. Roll on Dragon Blaze.
And where is Bad Dudes? I though it was out today...yet I see nothing on the new releases or upcoming releases, at least in the US. It’s fallen off the map.

@Agent721 It was removed from the Eshop again, someone in the comments under the NA download update article said he'd spoke to a rep and that it won't be coming any time soon, if at all. No idea what's gone wrong.
@Agent721 Oh yeah!
Never knew it existed till it was a bit too late and the prices were already crazy.
Thought about grabbing the Famicom version, but that one goes for nearly as much, so I'm out of luck there.
Bit of good news though, got a nice little package in today from Play-Asia.
It's the first time I ever bough a Korean import, besides films, but this one was certainly worth it.
Now watch LRG or someone announce an English version in the coming week. I've had the best luck with those kinds of things.
Wouldn't surprise me that out of the blue KoeiTecmo would suddenly localise Musou Orochi 2 now that I finally imported it after holding off on buying it since last summer, waiting to see if a western version would ever come out...

Oh man, gutted BAD DUDES... has run into problems. Hope we do see it and other Data East games in the future even if it is under the stewardship of a different label.

@Lroy Yep don't understand what's gone on there. To have it on the Eshop as coming, review codes sent out, removed from Eshop, re-appear again with a new title and new price and then the day before release disappear again with rumours suggesting it may be permanently canned. What a mess!
It may turn out that @Shiryu will be one of only a select few folk around the world to actually have the game on his Switch.
Very nice! It’s great the consoles are all region free now a days. It opens up a whole new world of gaming and usually more varied than the stuff in your home country. Hopefully you didn’t pay an arm & a leg.

Tengai is so bloody good. The graphics, the power ups, the Psikyo gameplay, the superb sound effects and music is incredible, wide-screen, it's got everything. There is one fault though, the rankings . There's no ranking screen to select for each difficulty, the only time you see the leaderboard is after you die or during the demo play. Plus the score doesn't reset after you lose a continue. Worst of all, whether you play on easy, normal or hard your score goes on the same leaderboard. Other than that though, the game is amazing.
@Agent721 Really happy to get both games.
Didn't cost too much all things considered. Import tax and everything included it came to €55 for Battle Garegga and 65€ for Musou Orochi.
Just got a second package in today as well. One I've wanted for a couple of years now and one I actually ordered about 2 year ago and got "lost" in the mail.
This time I got it from a seller in Germany, so the risk of losing it was much much less. That one came to €99, but it's my second to last shooting game for 360 that I wanted in my collection.
It got quite a big of criticism when it was originally released, but honestly, I really loved the game when I picked it up digitally. It's just a really fun shooter.
Looking at this review, you can see that there's a high probability that Danmaku Unlimited 3 took quite a bit of inspiration from it.
This was also one of the few region free games on 360, so it was easy to import even without a Japanese 360.
Really love the fact that Nintendo changed it's mind on region locking.
I remember sending a a friendly email to Satoru Shibata directly when the region-free movement was starting to pick up steam. Explaining the reason why people like me tend to import games and how it's not to get cheaper games, but instead because many games don't come over and how we actually end up paying more in import fees and such, as well as hardware costs, that I'd rather spend directly to buy more software.
No idea if any of it helped, but in the end they did end up reversing course, so I'm happy.
@OorWullie Yeah, the game is really good.
Just noticed the scoring issues. Wonder if we could see a patch for it down the line or if that is something that would take too much time to implement.
Might have to shoot them another email. They always respond quite quickly and are a friendly people.

Danmaku definitely took inspiration from this game. It looks very cool, bright colors and 3D backgrounds, the obvious bullet soul mechanic. Looks like a very fun shooter...I can download it to Xbox so I might try it out. I see there’s two available...including one called Infinity Burst. Is that a sequel?
We all win with region free games. I hope the trend continues across all platforms.

@Agent721 The second one, Bullet Soul Infinite Burst is somewhat of a directors cut.
Been too long since I played it in depth to be able to explain it without either making a fool of myself or straight up making stuff up. lol
What I remember is that the second one supposed to fix some things that people had issues with.
Again, I can't tell as I didn't have issues with the original personally.
It also plays a bit differently, but it's really too long ago for me.
There's certainly an extra mode to play and I think an extra character as well if I'm not mistaken.
When in doubt, watch Bullet Heaven I guess.

@Agent721
Oh, one more thing. I started watching the video and one thing felt off to me.
They mention how the original game is included in the Infinite Burst version in it's entirety.
While my memory is foggy, this felt wrong to me and otherwise, I wouldn't have felt the need to hunt down a copy of the original.
So I did a bit of searching and several reviews mention how the Original Mode is identical to the first game normal mode.
So I went a little deeper and found my answer, as well as confirmation that I haven't gone completely coocoo just yet on the shmups forums:
Thanks to someone who goes by the name of BulletMagnet:
"- Just to emphasize, this one really isn't a sequel so much as a "remix" of the original game: as has been noted, menus and options are pretty much identical to the first Bullet Soul (I'm personally miffed that they still haven't put in an option to disable replay saving), and while things have been tweaked gameplay-wise the basic idea of getting in close and cancelling enemy shots before they hit you is the same.
"Normal" mode plays with the same rules as "non-Infinite Burst" Bullet Soul, with a few changes: as has been noted, the enemy and bullet patterns have been changed, including the addition of some new enemies not seen in the original. The multiplier also goes up MUCH faster: in the first game it took some effort to get it up past a few dozen, but here the triple digits aren't too tough even for a scrub like myself, and a decent player could surely do a good deal better than that (the extend rate has also been adjusted, of course, though offhand I'm not sure what the exact values are). Most of the "tricks" from before still work (i.e. dropping the buildings on the spider bots, etc.), but some stuff has been switched up (you don't need to bomb to open up the alien nest in stage 3, now you can just shoot it).
Speaking of bombs, this edition's a bit less generous with them: before you'd get one per stage, but here I didn't see a bomb pickup until stage 3. Your stock is still refilled after dying though, so it's not a huge change.
It might be my imagination, but it feels to me like enemies are a bit more aggressive on the whole, but also die a bit quicker: someone more observant than myself would have to corroborate that, but while I would agree that the game is more challenging than before, I wouldn't call it a huge difference. I do feel a bit more confident, somehow, using Cap'n McSmirkey than before, while I used to much prefer Officer Garterbelt; Moe Pimp Lord's lack of speed, however, I still find crippling. Plugsuit Desu is indeed pretty powerful, though you do need to be good at getting in close to truly take advantage of her, well, advantages."

I tried the LodeRunner demo last night and found it surprisingly enjoyable. The game has 150 original 1980s style levels as well. It has coop and the level editor. The graphics are simple but still look good given the source material.
I will pick it up, its a well done tribute.
