Topic: Animal Crossing Cartridge to Digital?

I wanna get the digital version of ACNH but I have the physical version that came with the ACNH bundle.
Is there a way I can transfer it physically to digitally?
Or get a new digital copy of the game without losing all of my save data on the physical copy? Because I have about 35 hours in the game and I don’t wanna restart.
Or if I purchase the digital copy will all my save data be the same from the physical copy?

I am pretty sure save data is on your switch. But you would need to buy it digitally.

So if I bought a digital version it would transfer over?

It saved my data from botw. But double check before you do it. I know I wouldn’t make a 60 dollar decision based only off what some guy in a forum said.

Yes, if you download a digital version, it will read your save data seamlessly. I've done this with a few Switch games.

@RyanK39 : There is nothing to transfer. Switch save data is stored in the console’s system memory, not the cartridge, so, buying a digital copy will simply read that same data in the system memory.

"Gee, that's really persuasive. Do you have any actual points to make other than to essentially say 'me Tarzan, physical bad, digital good'?"

As other said your saved data is on the Switch unless your doing system migration then you need to follow Nintendo instruction to do it correctly. Getting Physical or Digital does nothing to the save game it will be accessed the same way.
