Topic: Accounts on Switch Lite for Kids

I bought Switch lites for both of my kids for Christmas. How do I setup my account so they can download games without needing their own account (no email addresses). I created a Family Group but that seems to be more for NS Online which we won't be using. I have a Switch of my own as well.

You can have them sharing the same account, but they will not be able to play the same games at the same time, since the system expects each account to belong to one person.

If you also share the same account, then chances are they won't be able to play offline either, since their systems will try to check online if the original owner (you) isn't already playing something at the time.

This all only applies to digital games, the ones you bought from the shop on the switch. They could of course still play any retail game card they have on their switch at the moment, without any online checks.

The best solution would be to make them their own accounts, and maybe buying more retail than digital if you want them to share the same games.

Giving them their own accounts will also let them have their own sets of save data backups (if you have the online sub), so they could easily go back and forth between your main switch, and their lites.

@iamamabram You would be better off just setting up a dummy e-mail account for them and using parental controls. Here's a direct link to their site for the most accurate info: https://www.nintendo.com/switch/parental-controls/
