I was curious what people here think about that prospect (how likely, would you want it, etc). Personally I'm all down for it. The more games the better and if Xbox cloud gets expanded it might help the switch 2 run the few titles that are a bit above it's paygrade.
I would like to see Disney Rush, Disneyland Adventures, Re:Core, Scream Ride from XBOX ONE Get ported to Switch 2 so I can have better excuse to not purchasing current XBOX machines.
They will shoot themselves in the mouth and give themselves "Foot and Mouth Disease" if they don't. It's in their bottom line and gaming platforms to get even more market shares from Nintendo gamers to come into camp with them games.
Honestly? It wouldn’t surprise me in the least if Microsoft are doing their best, behind closed doors, to get GamePass onto the Switch 2 at some point.
I mean, why not? These days it’s probably their main focus, they want every device with a screen to be capable of playing GamePass and I have no doubt whatsoever that it’s their ultimate goal down the line. Ditch the hardware, become a third-party publisher and have GamePass on everything they possibly can.
Really it’s a sound business practice and given their performance the past couple of generations, it’s where they will get the largest return on their investments. And hardware, after all, has always been a bit of a money pit compared to what they could achieve as a third party publisher and GamePass operator. By distancing themselves from a single hardware platform, they are opening up to a significantly larger audience.
I don’t think they’ll bow out of the hardware race for one more generation, but I do think that could be their last, as they continue to push towards “everything is an Xbox”. And before I get slammed for being a Nintendo fanboy, nothing could be further from the truth (well, they are my favourite publisher) I am now, and always have been, multi-platform, including every generation of Xbox.
