I got a switch 2 console recently and I want to make sure about some things before I buy a controller.

Does the switch 2 joycons that come with the console have an nfc reader?

Does the Nintendo switch 2 pro 1 or 2 controllers have nfc readers as well?

Is it true that the nfc reader on the switch 2 console’s joy con and on the Nintendo switch pro 1 or 2 controllers is just for reading amiibos and unlocking in game content?

If I want to use the nfc reader on the switch 2 joy con is it possible to use it, by using it with a controller that isn’t a Nintendo switch pro 1 or 2 controller?

If so, will the performance of the nfc reader on the joy con when used with a controller that isn’t a Nintendo switch pro 1 or 2 controller be the same as if I used the nfc reader on the joy con with a switch pro 1 or 2 controller? I plan to play smash bros so I want to know I’ll buy a few amiibos for the game

Yes, to all questions as fast as I can understand what you're saying. Although I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "other controllers", if by that you mean third party controllers I would say no but if you mean the JoyCon then yes

If the question is whether you can play a game using a third party controller without NFC, but still register Amiibos using the right Joy-Con, the answer is yes.

@Matt_Barber would you recommend the 8bitdo ultimate 2 wireless controller for the switch 2? I want to use it because i read on google it has lower latency than some of the other 8bitdo controllers but at the same time I read the 8bitdo ultimate 2c has lower latency than the ultimate 2 wireless, but I don’t want to buy the 2c because it’s a lower quality controller from what I heard. I want to play switch 1 and switch 2 games but I plan on playing smash bros for switch 2 when it comes out, I read having low latency is important for games played online

@BlueShinyDragon I've not used that specific controller but 8bitdo generally have a good reputation.

For low latency, you ideally want to be using a wired connection rather than over Bluetooth, so bear that in mind.
